Just some helpful hints from my last four days at OKW:

1) stayed in studio room 6223; can't get much closer to HH/gate than that....third floor, pretty, great location for two adults on the go.

2) when leaving universal studios, watch your speed! cops were sitting there waiting and pulling over one after another. we rented a convertible....it's hard to go slow in that!ooops.

3) Write down your parking area! We forgot twice! So hard to think at all while on vaca!

4) Double check all PS upon arrival; front desk will print out your ps for you and you can check them; we went to the Polynesian Luau Wed. night and upon arrival learned that the PS guy booked us for the 5:15 sitting instead of 8 PM. Happy to say we waited and they gave us the best two seat table in the place, front and center! Great show....will be bringing the kids to that one.

5) Wings at ESPN...if you order HOT be prepared to sweat....they are VERY HOT....but good. And if you can't eat them...be sure and eat something while still drinking the two pictchers of beer you order........duh. No hulk or dueling dragons for me that next AM

6) Give universal a try at least; I was not even willing to check it out until dh insisted on trying with the $99.00 AP(heading back in Dec with kids) WE headed right to AAA south upon arrival Mon., got the AP's and headed straight to Islands of Adventure. Great rides - see Spiderman the Movie before coming - then ride the Spiderman ride...so fun. M,T & W were virtually empty at Universal before noon....not even crowded after noon.

7) Check out the Mickey themed sarong in the gift shop ladies...it's beautiful, long and only $14.00! Have fun for us...

How does the $99 Annual pass work???

I don't think our AAA-NJ has it but I'm headed to Atlanta over the 4th and at Thanksgiving. I'd be happy to scamper over and pick up a voucher for it then. I'll be going to Universal next February.

Do I have to prove I am an AAA-South member and not just AAA?

It's 99$ for anyone....children, adults, etc... and no, you do not have to be AAA south member; you just show up at an AAA south office! I know, great deal. I think it activates in July though, regardless of when you start using it....check out the AAA website and click on theme park tickets....there is also an earlier post about it. Good luck!

We're returning with children in Dec. and so felt it was a good deal. May not purchase it for them though...not sure yet. I was surprised at Univeral STudios....no comparison to Disney for me....but then again, I'm so partial to anything Disney. Islands of Adventure was a hoot though - can't believe I rode the coasters.

Not to be nitpicky, but wanted to correct this for those who collect and request specific room numbers. Room 6223 is a dedicated two bedroom on the second floor of building 62. We stayed in it 4/26-30 (and I agree, it was an ideal location). If you were on the third floor it must've been 623X (not sure what the last digit would be - I know the end units are studios and end in 0 as another in our party was in 6220).

Thanks for the fix....it was my mistake 6233! I'm still in a Florida fog.

Hi Everyone,

Am I reading this correctly??? You got a Universal AP for $99.00.
Is that access to both parks? Last time I was there I think I got 2 days for $75.00.

This time I'll buy one.
Thanks for the info.

YES! you are reading it correctly. It's both parks, $99. We went M,T,W for a half-day each time...it was great. That's the thing with the AP; you go and just stay until you want to leave, you don't feel like you HAVE to stay all day. Wish AAA had a deal like that for Disney APs! There are even directions on the AAAsouth site that are great. I printed them out and went straight from the airport. Islands of Adventure was tons of fun - Spiderman was cool, see the movie first.

No, you must buy them at an AAA South office.
