I originally sent this to Captain Brain to help him out last night. After speaking to a few others since then I have realized not everyone is aware of these hints. I hope this is able to help a lot of you out!

Ok, here are a few helpful hints.

1. When directing your person, do not click the mouse button to move. The only time I might do this, is in the begining to click an area away from the door to show where I want my person to move. Other than that, if you move your mouse slowly enough, your person will follow that lead. Actually, it isn't about moving your mouse slowly, it is about analyzing where you want your person to move and just be a few moments ahead of the game with your mouse, know what I mean?

2. ALWAYS try and find the other team's people who have been touched by our team's ghosts. They are worth double points (the ghost NPCs told me that clue).

3. Likewise, if I happen to turn into a ghost I will stay away from the other team if there are none of my ghosts around. If there are a few then I will try and have the other team "turn" me so that I can go back to catching my ghosts.

4. To catch your own ghosts (ghosts of YOUR team color: green for green, and purple for purple) press ALT and SHIFT. You can also use CONTROL key but that doesnt work as well for me for some reason.

That's all I can think of for now. Hope this helps you out!!! It is a great game and I LOVE playing it!

thanks for the hints. So far I've only been able to play two games and crashed both times. Is it better to use your mouse or the arrow keys?

Whenever I play I seem to spend most of the time being turned into a ghost.

thanks for the tips. I just realized yesterday that I don't have to madly click the mouse to walk (or run) around the rooms. I have noticed that on occasion I get stuck in one place and I can't get my person to move at all.

This game can be very fun, and it changes alot depending on how many people are playing. You can really rack up some great credits too.

For those who are already pro's at it....don't yell at the new players...we are having a tough enough time getting around and then finding the right door!!

Thanks for the awesome tips! I haven't even been able to play this game yet! LOL! I went to the lobby just a little while ago and kept trying to start a game, but I kept getting a message that the game was full and to try again later. I finally gave up and am on Jungle Cruise right now. LOL!

When is the best time to play this game?

AND does anyone want to take this newbie who stinks at the VMK games, by the way, and place me on their winning team? :) :) :)

thanks for the tips made me better :)
i used to use shift+Ctrl but it but my computer on stand by so that helped alot

just played a game against 3 people and i won with 57 and they got 54 :)

gave me 225 points plus a bonus of 50 making 275 credits :)

hey you can be on my team I win alot. When it was 3 against 1,(I was the 1) and I had 24 points and the team of 3 had 26 six points.I'snt that amazing?

I have a question about the bonus points you earn for being on the winning team. Usually you receive 50 credits, but a few times I have been awarded 250? I did get 500 for my 10th victory, but do not understand why I occasionally receive 250. Hey, I am not complaining but would love to know how to get that big bonus more often! ;)

I think it works on a 5-Win basis. Every 5 times you win, you get 250 creds.

Im in the Haunted Mansion Lobby (North-North-West) If anyone wants to play :)

Oh my!! This game is harder than I thought!! Just tried it twice and both times after getting through Round 1, I ended up back in the HM Lobby. Do your team members actually have the power to "boot" you from their team? LOL! Because I think that's what happened to me! One of my team members actually took the time to stop during the game and tell me that I should leave the game and that I stink!!! LOL! The nerve of him!!! :rotfl2:

If team members can actually dump you, then I guess I don't stand the chance of ever playing this game and getting credits. How's a girl ever suppose to learn?? :rotfl:

I'm not really that good either. I played today with Belle and Magic and RealLabGirl....and got my first two wins....thanks to my teammates LOL. I usually get on in the mornings at opening and it seems to run more smoothly then.

Yes, us ladies had a ball this morning!!

I have no problems helping out any newbies that might not be able to do as well as they like. I will be on tonight around 8 or so EST and then around 10 AM tomorrow morning. Or you could always just PM me if these are not good times for you. I will warn you I am not always at the best of my game due to lagging, and uncle arthur deciding to show his ugly self in my wrists...but I do try as hard as I can!

Keep on trying, that's all I have to say!

I really do love this game though. :wizard: :teeth:

Thanks for posting the tips. I really like the new game.

I haven't played the game *that* much, but I don't think you should worry about bothering people on your team by being "bad" at the game. If you are "bad", then the other players on your team get MORE ghosts (since you are not getting them), and thus, more credits. Your team might not "win", but your teammates will get more ghost credits, that might even make up for the lost "50 credits for being on the winning team."

In fact, as far as I can tell, the Haunted Mansion game is great in that it doesn't matter if the teams are really lopsided in skill, because if a team isn't very good at cleaning up the ghosts, eventually most of the ghosts become "their" color, and the other team won't have ghosts to hose down (and so the scores never get REALLY lopsided).

Of course, a good team playing against a bad team might be annoyed because the ghosts don't "turn over" as fast, so they won't get as many ghosts for credits.

All in all though, it seems to be a nicely balanced game.

YOU DON'T HAVE TO CLICK THE MOUSE?? Oh my, that is why I look like a spaz :rotfl: I figured something was wrong with the game, LOL, it was me. :rotfl:

I, too, was a mouse clicker....thank goodness Belle came along and told me not to click LOL I think I was clicking so much that I was freezing the game, and that made it hard for me to move. I seem to be doing better now, go figure!

Gr, I am really really bad at this game too. Every time I corner a ghost, my zapper turns the wrong way when I hit Cntrl Enter

Those are good points Beazoar. I have found a way to help with this. It doesn't always work but if the other team doesn't seem to be good I will "give" them points much like Moussedude's meathod. I get ghosted and go to them to let them change me I keep the score balanced to give a third round which boosts the points for all. While playing around with turning into a zombie I shake the caskets and ussually I can get my color to come out. Sometimes you can't help ending in round two but the pay off is much better with three rounds.
