Going to disney mid August, can anyone give me information as the best positions to see the fireworks/parades at both MK & Epcot. I can understand people not wanting to give the best secrets away, so your secound best will do.Is the fantasmic dinner/ voucher worth it? Also is the fireworks best viewed from the Rose & Crown? is it worth reserving a dinner time? as we live in London I would rather eat elsewhere.

In the MK, if you stand just to the right of the castle (towards tomorrowland) you will get a good view of Tinkerbell as she flys out of the castle as well as a good view of the fireworks. In Epcot, if you can manage to be sitting out side at Rose & Crown, that would be perfect. If not, then try over by Japan but on the top of the stairs...

We usually sit at the couple of table in the very small Africa section. People usually crowd up the bench areas and the areas around the major countries. Since Africa is kind of overlooked, we always get a see and have a good view. We do try to get there 15- 30 minutes before show time and relax with a cold drink while we wait.

Even with a ressie at the Rose & Crown, you may not get an outside table with an Illuminations view. They're first come, first serve, and the people who have them tend to linger around for the show.

We've watched from in front of and to the side of Canada. Another place to try is the outdoor cantina in front of Mexico. But you'd have to get there early for a table close to the railing. We've also watched from the second floor of the big building in Japan. There's a balcony on the end by the water. It's part of the bar/restaurant there. If you like Japanese food, this might be a good place. (Or maybe just plant yourselves on the steps.) Otherwise, just find a good spot around the railing somewhere - and guard it.

The suggestion of just to the right of the castle for the MK fireworks is a good one. We sometimes watch the parade in Frontierland. Stand on the Saloon steps. Or watch it from the City Hall steps on Main Street. To be honest, we've never had a problem just finding a spot on the curb along Main Street.

Shhh, don't tell anyone this one ;)
For Illuminations: If you're standing in front of Rose and Crown, there is a seating area to the left of the restaurant. It's for anyone. The entrance is between the R&C hostess podium and the beer stand so most people think it is part of the restaurant but it is not. We found a table there with great views of the show. Here's a pic from DH's video (keeping in mind he has a great zoom lens!)

We grabbed fish and chips from the stand nearby and had a great time!

For Spectromagic we like to sit on the porch at Pecos Bill's (again we usually time it so we can sit and eat in our spot while we wait). Sometimes there are chairs there, but if not we just sit on the edge of the porch.

If there are two showings of Spectro that night, sometimes we skip the first one and we see the second one from the hub. We like to be right in front of the castle where the parade turns toward the bridge into Liberty Square.

For Wishes, we stand on the path in the rose garden near the hub. The path is near the Tomorrowland entrance. Even in the last week of June, we were one of the only families there since so many others gathered where they could see Spectro. Oh yeah, and Tink flies right over you!

Going to watch the fireworks at MK, go to fantasyland. I have been there in August alot and it is a great time to be there. The space there is good because it is not as crowded as Main Street. You can be with your kids and actually not be shoulder to shoulder with others. In epcot snowy76 is right that is a great place to be for there fireworks. Have a wonderful time!! Aloha  :fish: :fish:

My family and I always sit by the Dumbo ride over next to Snow White's Ride. We were told that they light off the fireworks from on top of Snow White's Scary Adventures. You get an excellent view of the fireworks!

My other spot is at POP Century. We stayed there in Jan. of this year in the 50s section, Building 2, 4th floor, room #2441. We had an astounding view of the firworks even though it was soo far away. We also can view Illuminations from our room, too. They played at the same time everyday for our whole trip there in the World. It looked like there was 1 big fireworks show with a gap in between. I hope this helps you out!
