Dont worry about the Good Neighbor moniker. It gets you nothing.
My fave local hotels are Park View Inn and Best Western Park Place Inn, for their closeness and quality of lodgings. They also have great free breakfast.
The hotels on either side of those and the Marriott are all good too.

Thank you everyone! Thinking about booking a last minute trip but I have no idea what I'm doing. Since I'm having to work around when the flights are cheap I'm looking at either April 23-29 or May 8-14 and there is very little availability Thanks for all your help!

The Fairfield, although the HoJo isn't far (about a 10 minute walk from the parks).

We like the Candy Cane Inn, the Motel 6, and the Sheraton Park.

I liked our stay at the Castle Inn & Suites. The Carousel Inn wasn't bad, just doesn't work for us as I need an accessible room and theirs only have one queen bed.

Fairfield, by maybe 200 feet? Take a look at Googlemaps. You can see the Harbor Blvd to the east of the park, and where the main entrance and drive is on that side. Right across the crosswalk is Best Western Park Place Inn, Park Vue, Desert Inn. Look north along Harbor. At Manchester you can see where HoJo is. We used to jaywalk across Manchester in the mornings (practically no traffic) and walk down Harbor to the crosswalk, about ten minutes. Fairfield is right across Manchester from HoJo, just a tad closer. We haven't stayed there ourselves but I always hear good things about it.

I stayed at Desert Inn last time, top floor, far forward as possible, and I really liked it. Clean, comfortable, inexpensive. But all these other places have great reviews, too. And so close!

It's not technically a "Good Neighbor" hotel (whatever that means) but we liked the Desert Inn during our last visit.

We loved the Tropicana and will be staying again in Nov. I have nothing to compare it to but it met all our needs, was clean and super close.
