Help!

We had an escape wedding in November 2010. We had a very small wedding, just the two of us in fact as we combined it with our honeymoon at Disney.

We got married at Sea Breeze Point then went to Victoria and Albert's for the most amazing meal of our lives - then wandered down to Narcoosee's to watch the Wishes fireworks :lovestruc

For us it was perfect, really laid back and simple.

There are loads of options for dinner and dessert parties I'm sure you'll find the perfect location for you - consult the passporter bible! - ha! :thumbsup2
Aww sounds so romantic! So, how was the cake? Thats my main concern with the escape wedding, the cake!!! lol

The cake looked amazing and was lovely. We ordered marble with a buttercream filling and I'm not a big cake person but I enjoyed it. I think with you having your wedding at the pavillion your cake will be made by the GF bakery, whereas mine was made at The Boardwalk. I'm not 100% with this but I'm sure I read that somewhere, makes sense logistically if nothing else!

I ordered the scrolls cake but instead of white I asked for it to be cream and have a gold base to go with our colour scheme. I also asked for no flowers as I wasn't too keen and we used our own cake topper - a Christmas ornament we bought in Disneyland Paris when we got engaged.

If you click on my signature picture it should take you to my flickr site, I have a few pics of the wedding on there you can take a peek at if you like.

Ok, just looked at your album and #1 you were a gorgeous bride! I loved the cake and the topper, very beautiful. It looked like you had some pics in the castle. Did you do the MK photoshoot? Did you think it was worth it?

You're very kind  I've loads more to add to flickr.

We did the MK photo shoot a week after our wedding. I definitely think it was a worthwhile experience and we got some lovely photographs. Have you seen the thread I posted earlier in the week about the DFTW Facebook site? A fellow DIS couple had an MK shoot recently and their photographs are stunning.

I know it's a shame some couples have had bad experiences with Disney photography, it's one thing to not like the photographs but entirely another when they're out of focus!

It seems you can now request specific photographers and have them guaranteed at your wedding and for the MK shoots so hopefully that should improve things.

Personally I had a good experience with Disney and I like the photos I received both of the ceremony and of the MK. I have to be honest though and say personally I did prefer Randy both for his creativity and his personality and if it had been an option I would have hired him to shoot the MK photographs.

If you're not bothered about the MK photo shoot but change your mind you can always go back and do it years later as a Disney bride.

I keep going back and forth about the MK shoot. I'll probably do it now that they are going back to the earlier hours. You said you can do it years later. Is there a time limit? I'm using David and Vicki Arndt for my wedding photography and welcome reception. I've also added a resort BP to my package with them. Then we leave for our DCL honeymoon. I'm afraid I won't have time for the MK BP that week. Especially with the no Thursday rule.

I've not come across a limit but neither have I looked or asked about one. Might be worth checking with your planner just in case - try and get a written confirmation too as you never know! :rotfl:

There is a time limit, it is one year after your wedding. HTH!
