As I already told you im going to Disney World in May with my family now I have a problem my 16 Year old son will be going with us and I dont think he's going to want to spend his whole vacation with us, not like we want to spend it with him. He can't bring any friends from school because he goes to a private school and it was close to impossible to get him out for this trip. I wanted to know what to occupy his time with at the resort we'll be at or around the world. Well be at the Grand Floridian.

Our DS who is now 22 went with us and his grandparents when he was 17, the first time without his sister as she was married. He had a good time, but made sure we knew he wished he had a friend. We did let him pick the places we ate so that helped us, plus he picked out what we did. Good luck and have fun.

There's always the speedboats and Disney Quest.

Is he a very outgoing person? There is a Teen site on the DIS. Maybe if he found someone else going at the same time, they could meet up. We met two other couples through DIS, because we were all running the 1/2 marathon and it was great meeting them in person.

We'll be staying in a BWV on our next vacation and I have no problem letting my 16 year old son go down to the Boardwalk, or even to a park as long as we work out the details first. But I wouldn't let him go to Downtown Disney alone.

But my son usually prefers to stay with us. We brought a friend down with us a couple years ago and they didn't want to go off alone.

Our 16 year old son is the only child left at home....and, yes, he's going to WDW with us the end of March. In the past he has brought a friend along....when possible....but, this time it's not.
We're staying at the AKL......and, I've told him about the great pool....the arcade....and the general atmosphere that I think he'll like. We also figure that there will be other teens there, with their parents, that might be around to meet.
We're lucky.....we love to be with him....he's lot's of fun....but, he also knows that if he meet's anyone his own age he can certainly spend some time with them.
My husband and him plan to spend time together at Disney Quest........(I think I'll pass :-D !). Also, they probably will head to one of the water parks. Between school and work they don't get much time together......this is the perfect opportunity!!!
