I have done character attendant. It was a lot of fun. I loved getting to work in all 4 parks, and getting to interact with the characters.

That sounds tiring working all 4 parks the only two parks I"m familiar with is Orlando Florida Disney World and The California one Disneyland

I worked in Attractions, on Main Street, which is Turnstiles and Parade Control, and it was SOO much fun! It's not a traditional attraction, but you're right in the middle of the action at the Magic Kingdom. Plus, you are actually working two jobs, so you don't get bored. I can't even think of any cons...it's all pros!

As for moving down to Florida to go full-time- why don't you try the college program or an internship first? WDW pays minimum wage, which in Florida is $6.47 an hour. Orlando is a very expensive place to live, and it's really hard to make it on that salary. All of the managers on my CP recommended getting a degree before going full-time, because there is only so far you can advance without one.

I'm assuming she means the four parks of WDW (Florida), which are the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, MGM Studios, and Animal Kingdom. I also don't think that character attendants work in more than one park per day.

I don't mean DL unfortunately (never been there- someday I will). I meant the 4 WDW parks.

Yup, I meant those. And actually, attendants can work more then one park in a day. I have before.

Well.. the reason i didn't want to do the internship is because i'm moving down here with my fiance, and his brother. So on top of me.. it'll be two other pepole paying rent. So 1,000. a month for a 2 bedroom apartment won't be so much split between people.

Do you know if i can do the internship, but not live in their housing??

Damn 6.47!! It's 7.25 now in PA. It just went up, i thought it went up around the country... Is it min wage just becuase of the internship? Becuase i'm 20 years old, and i have a lot of customer service experience, so i was hoping maybeeeeeee they'd pay me more? lol. the one girl i know works there and gets paid 8.00 doing life guarding. I don't want to do that of coarse... But do you know if anything pays anymore than anything else? Like if hospitality would pay more than character attendant or attractions, of coarse id apply for that!! haha.

I'm only going to be full time until next fall. I'm in college right now, and then i'm going to move down in Jan.. so i'll just be out of school for a semister, becuase i'll be going back in the fall.

Sorry this was so long, hopefully you or someone else can help me out!! haha.

Thank you all for your time and helping me out!!:cool1:

I think there is a way to do an internship without being in housing...a coworker of mine on the CP lived in an apartment with his brother...I don't know how he did it, though.

The minimum wage did go up...it used to be $6.15...And as far as I know, that's the salary everyone starts at, unless you have years and YEARS of experience. There are jobs that pay slightly more (I think there's a QSFB premium), but I think the salary's the same among the three categories you listed.

If you're only going to be there for a semester anyway, I'd do it through the College Program. You get more networking opportunities, you can take classes and you get more contact with managers, which is really helpful if you decide to return to the Disney company in any capacity.

Hope that helps!

Wow, really? I ddin't realize that! How did that work? Was it two different shifts? I always thought that being a character attendant would be so much fun!

It happens quite often actually. In fact, my first week there I had 2 different double-shift days. Usually you will have a couple of hours in between to get to the other park. And most of the time it is different shifts, but a few times it was a double in the one park. And yes, character attendant is a LOT of fun! I had an absolute blast!
