OK, DH announced that his company is sending him to Universal for 4 days next July!:woohoo:
Now, I need to find all of the information that I can so that DS, DS, and I can go with him. We went to Disney last year, but I know nothing about Universal. :scared1: He told me that after the 4 days, we can do Disney for 3 or 4. Is this a good idea? DSs will be 14 & 9. Help me to plan a great family vacation.
Also, is it too soon to start planning? :surfweb:
Thanks!

It's never too soon to start planning. I would suggest looking at the website and get a general feel of the resort first and then come back and ask any questions you have. We are always here to help! :)

Are you staying onsite? If you are and can take advantage of using your room key for front-of-the-line access, you won't need much planning.

We have been twice in July. We got to the parks when they opened, and by around 2 pm we were done for the day. The majority of the crowds don't arrive until lunch time so you can get a lot done in the mornings.

a good place to start is also at the top.... FAQ's sticky :thumbsup2

thanks! I am really stressed. :sad2: I wish he would not have told me until closer to next July. A whole year to plan is just too much! I do not know right now where we will be staying; just that we will have a free shuttle to universial. Everytime I ask dh what are the details he tells me to call him at his office. :headache: Then he does not answer the phone because he is in meetings all day!
really don't know what to do since my boys (13 & 9) did not ride any rides last year at disney. I would hate to go to universial and them not want to ride anything.:scared:
I might just cancel going with him a plan a cruise with me and the 2 boys.:rotfl2:
I will keep reading all of the posts on here and hopefully I will just chill with the whole thing.:goodvibes

Once you are more ed-u-ma-cated about UO, show your boys the pictures. They will give you feedback. Please don't take this the wrong way, but is the reason they didn't ride anything at Disney last year maybe because they are bored with it? :duck: Maybe they are ready to move on to different things? I don't know your boys, but before you commit, (if you're afraid they won't want to ride anything at UO), run your info and pictures by them...let them guide you! :thumbsup2 Good luck!

nope, they were not bored just chickens.:lmao: The last day they decided to start riding the rides, just the small, tame rides. The goofy coaster was the only coaster they wanted to ride. So with the dueling dragons and other scary coasters I am just concerned. I read the faqs and I am feeling a little less stressed.:scared1:

dont get stressed now! there's plenty of people here to help you with whatever planning you need :thumbsup2

exactly...don't stress.. we will help you.

the ONLY coasters at UO are:

DD, Hulk, and Mummy...but Mummy is a show and then finishes as a coaster ride...inside, in the dark....like Space Mountain...only better! :thumbsup2

Oh, and they have the Woody Woodpecker Nuthouse coaster (US) and Flying Unicorn (IOA) which are comparable to Goofy! coaster

see? already started! ;)

Never stress. We can and will answer every one of your questions. We are better if you ask a question instead of just telling you things off the tops of our heads.

Don't stress out! My son and I are the biggest chickens in the world(Dumbo makes me sick:rotfl2: ) but we found plenty to do and love at Universal! There is so much more to do than just coasters! You will love it.
