This is our first trip to WDW (July 2 - July 10 at POP). I've read many, many guide books, official and unofficial. It seems such a massive place that I don't know where to begin. Any help in this department?

We have been to Disney World many times, and each time we use Birnbaum's Guide to Disney. We always like to get up, grab something quick to eat and head into the parks early. The lines are shorter earlier in the morning and as you are going in July, it is cooler in the morning. Usually after lunch, we head back to our hotel (always staying monorail connected) for a little relaxation by the pool. Then we head back into the parks for dinner and the evening (again cooler temps).

Make a list of the attractions you want to see, prioritize them, and one by one knock them off. If you have the Park Hopper tickets, you can always go back at later times to see the attractions you missed.

Disney is not a place to RUSH through. Take your time and enjoy EVERYTHING. It really is a magical place.

We are going again in June and CAN'T WAIT! :yay:

How do you always stay monorail connected?

Agree with other poster....take your time...it's your first trip, but I guarantee you'll be back.....take Birnbaum's Guides advice...it is a vacation...so park in the am to mid afternoon....hotel pool or nap in the afternoon....back to a park in the evening....drink plenty of water....make a list of your must do rides, do them and do the others at your convenience! Have a very very Magical Disney Vacation!

There are 3 hotels that are monorail connected....Contemporary, Polynesian and The Grand Floridian. We find that the use of the monorail is much more convenient that riding the buses all over. You will still need to take a bus to Animal Kingdom and MGM, but the Monorail goes to the Magic Kingdom and Epcot and the above hotels. We LOVE the Polynesian. We will be staying there again in June!

Ooops! Almost forgot! Lots of walking. Make sure you have comfortable walking shoes, lots of sunscreen, and a great product called "BodyGlide" to help prevent blisters.
