Help YES tix

I thought I read a thread about this but I cannot find it now that I need it...
I know that the tickets are non-refundable. Would trip insurance cover this? We have our trip down to a two week window but we are not sure on the exact dates yet. I would like to purchase YES tix before they are closed. Do I need to wait until our dates are in stone? I also am confused about the window of use for the tickets? Day of arrival to 7 days after departure? Can I put any day down for arrival?

The problem is that need to commit to a program at a specific time and day for your kids. So need to pick dates first.

We have a window in which we plan to travel, so we picked the YES dates in the middle of that window, that way we can do the trip just a day or 2 after arriving or on the last day or 2 of our trip and we've pretty much opened up 3 1/2 weeks in which we can travel!
