Hello, I'm second guessing myself. I am worried about the skyliner going down frequently during afternoon times when we would return from Epcot/ DHS. Don't want to deal with buses from these parks. Has anyone gone and solidly not had this be a problem??? TIA

My wife and I recently stayed at Riviera. Of the 4 times we attempted to use the Skyliner it was down 3 times due to lightning in the area. We did have to take a bus, twice from EPCOT to the Riviera and once from the Skyliner station to HS. Hopefully you will have better luck with the weather than we dd. Have a great trip!

The only guarantee that you're going to get when it comes to Skyliner would be if you're staying at a Crescent Lake resort where you can walk from Epcot or HS. Bad weather can happen at any time of the year. I've visited in August many times before Skyliner and we had weeks where it stormed daily with lots of lightning and wind. Then there were others where it was dry except for the brief daily afternoon shower that is typical to Central Florida.

As others have said and I have experienced, the Skyliner is down when lightning in area. As I'm sure you know, lot of thunderstorms in August so good chance it will down some.

One thing we will be doing is walk to BC and call an Uber if Skyliner goes down when at Epcot or one from HS vs. waiting for the bus.

I know it’s a little extra money, but will be worth it.

We've done the same - not with the skyliner, but with buses - if Disney's transportation is too inconvenient for us, we grab a cab or an Uber. But Sandi is right - they are easier to grab from the hotels than the parks/

We stayed at Riviera last summer and the Skyliner was down pretty often because of lightning. Not sure if this was just because of how new the resort is but, the Busses were really good. Our room had a view of the Skyliner and if we saw it down we just went straight to the bus stop were either there or arrived shortly. Same thing coming back from H.S. Skyliner down heasd over to the bus.
