to make a long story short my grandparents are 91 and 99 years old. they still go to disney 2-3x a year. (down from when they were more mobile..6-10 visits) they are dvc members and have decided to take a trip in december.

they want to see the decorations and have not been thrilled with the ones at okw in the past. i think the plan will be wl lodge but how can we get to the rooms? how far is the walk? is there a separate parking lot/ entrance? any location that you would request in this situation?

it will be myself, 4 year old, my mother and grandparents. we will plan to be with them the entire time and they will use wheelchairs for long distances. they do what they want and it wouldn't be unusual for my grandfather to go exploring.

thanks for any help!

The regular rooms are right in the main building. The DVC rooms are a short walkway from the main building. If they are planning on a DVC stay in December, everything I have ever heard or read about VWL is that December books up months ahead of time.

thanks. they have a reservation i believe, but may switch if they can.:)

The villas are beautiful, separate from the main lodge and covered ramp to main building, pretty steep incline from villa to lodge and downward to the bus depot....

Auto parking is quite far from whole lodge and villas, but easy drop off area then go park ...

There's a nice seating and rest area in the villa, called the Spike Room or Rail Room... Disney's model trains in there, books, games, fireplace, tables and chairs and sofas... Really a nice quiet place ... Main lodge lobby tends to get a little loud especially from WCC....

It will be next to impossible to switch a reservation for December. Especially into VWL. And for a two bedroom villa.

The drop off area is at the Lodge, not at the villas. They will still need to get to the villas by going through the lodge if they are mobility challenged.
