I sucked the air out with the vacuum and sealed up my bags. Why did the air come out after only a couple of hours? :sad2:

Two possible reasons. One, the bags were not sealed properly by you or had small holes in them. The other reason, that ziplocs are not meant to hold a tight vacuum seal is most likely the actual reason. You can get a lot of air out of them, but they are not guaranteed to be airtight. Some of them are really good at staying sealed even so, I might try a different brand of bags to see if they work better then the ones you used.

I have found that the bags with the zippers are not as air tight as the ones that you press closed. Have you tried the ones that you close by pressing?

Instead of using the vacuum to get the air out, zip them almost all the way and them roll them to get most of the air out, then while rolled up finish zipping it up, then unroll it. It always has worked fine for me as long as I bought the ziplock brand and not the generic (had lots of problems with them). Although there are always some rogue baggies that dont cooperate and stay airtight.
