Hi I am new to board (posting that is...) I have been reading for quite some time----ANYWAYS, I need help. I have reservations 10/1-10/10---but I have stand view at wl for 10/1 since it is value season., then 10/2-10/9 I have ap courtyard view, I had to go back to stand. view for last night because they were booked for court.view. I was upset because my dd's 6th bday is the 9th and now we have to check out of the room and check in to a stand room and waste precious time. I need suggestions....Did anyone ever have this problem and do you think I will have any chance of them letting me stay where I am at for the last night???... I call CRO EVERY day to see if there had been a cancellation but I have had no luck... I need help!!
Thank you guys in advance.....

First, welcome to the disboards! We are glad to have you aboard.

As for your question, when you check in smile a lot and be extra nice to the CM checking you in, ask politely if you could be upgraded to a courtyard view since you have a ressie for the next 8 days for that category. I would be shocked if they did not upgrade you. I think she will try to accommodate you if they have availibility.

As for the check out date, do the same. See if there is availability in courtyard for your last day. If there isn't continue to check everyday. A lot of people book extra days, just in case, and then check out early.

I couldn't stress about it. Hopefully everything will come together.

Also, it wouldn't hurt having your 6 year old with you during check in. A quick mention about her birthday should do the trick.

Have a great trip.

I completely agree with Princess on this one (hey, I was always taught to listen to my momma!). I suspect you'll wind up getting what you're hoping for with a little persistence and by dropping a few key words ("birthday" being the biggest!")

Meanwhile, if worst comes to worst and you do have to move, I suspect it'll be a pretty easy proposition (sure, there's the pain in the butt of packing and unpacking), but I'd be willing to bed they're going to do everything they can to make it a really smooth transition. Hopefully, it won't matter as you'll be upgraded when you arrive.

I'll keep my fingers - and anything else that can be crossed - in the appropriate position for ya!

Are they completely booked for courtyard view, or don't they have a courtyard view available at the AP rate? If it's the latter, make that clear when you're checking in and they may go ahead and extend you the AP rate (if the courtyard room is available). That's happened to us. If it's not taken care of on checkin, call or stop by the front desk every day to keep checking the status of courtyard room availability. It always pays to be politely persistant, with a big smile.

Pixie dust!

i am sure if you explain this at check in they will do what they can for you. Let us know how it turned out.

They are completely booked all views.....I will let you all
know what happened... I'll make sure to smile VERY big.:p
Thanks Again!!

You should keep calling CRO about getting a courtyard view for the two nights. A couple of years ago we had reservations at the GF, but wanted to switch to the WL to stay at the same resort as our daughter's family. They said no rooms were available at all. A few days before our trip I phoned CRO and not only were rooms available, but we got a great AP room rate. It's possible to get the room you want and maybe at a discount.

It is crazy that this happens. All I have been hearing is that MK is dead and no lines ...etc. Unless in October they will really be crowded.... I really hope that we don't have to switch. Thanks for the input. I have called like every other day so far and today when I called CRO still said booked... I wonder if they keep certain room left open for other companies and if they don't sell by a certain time frame they will release to whoever.

I'll let you all know what happens...
