:confused3 My dh & I are taking his mom and step-dad to DW in November. We have the DDP. My dh & I have been many times. My in-laws have NEVER been. I have to try and figure out where we should eat. I don't like deciding for every one.

Please help. I think we will go to Epcot our first day, MK the next, AK the next, MGM & Epcot on our last.

Any suggestions?? They are not picky eaters. They think DW is like Six Flags!!!

I love taking folks to Disney for their first trips!

In the parks, here's my calls. I'll opine on outside the parks options later.

MK:
CS - Pecos Bills or Columbia Harbor House
TS - a little tough ... we like Tony's and LTT, esp. for lunch

Epcot:
CS - Tangerine Cafe, Sunshine Seasons
TS - Le Cellier or Marrakesh

AK:
CS - Tusker House, with a very honorable mention to Flame Tree
TS - Rainforest Cafe is the only current option

Studios:
CS - ummmm... maybe Backlot; ABC Commissary is my very least favorite in all the parks.
TS - Brown Derby is the best of the four parks, but it's 2 credits.

We are going with my in-laws for thier first trip also this winter. I looked at where would be good places, where do we like the food and atmosphere. Then I printed out menus and made them pick 5 out of the 7 to eat at. http://allearsnet.com/menu/menus.htm

I gave them Biergarten, Whispering Canyon Cafe, Chef De France, Coral Reef, Le Cellier, 1900 Park Fare Dinner, Akerhaus, Boma, Marrekesh, & Cape May Clam Bake.

They looked over the menus last night and made the choices. I figured that was the easiest way to do it. I wanted some princesses for DD, some seafood for Dh and something different than we had done on other trips for me. They are more conservative eaters than I had thought but as I was happy with any of the places before they chose it was a win, win for all.

And darn, I need to book yet another trip b/c we still are not going to Boma!!!! (No African, French or moroccan food for them. Its steak (or fish) or nothing!!!!)

They chose:

Coral Reef
Le Cellier :thumbsup2
1900 Park Fare princess:
Cape May Clam Bake
Biergarten

Are you going during the Food and Wine Festival??? That would be one suggestion for Epcot.
In the past I would always recommended Le Cellier, but I'm getting more and more disappointed with meals there. I would recommend Chefs de France for someplace really nice. Le Cellier is still a good choice, but the ADR times are VERY unreliable and service is not what it used to be. I think Chefs de France is equivelent.

I'm not fond of any restaurants at MK, so I would recommend our favorite, Grand Floridian Cafe. Other good ones in the MK area would be Chef Mickey, if you'd like a character meal. Whispering Canyon adds some fun, but for excellent food and service the Grand Floridian Cafe is wonderful. Our other favorite is Artist Point.

The only place we've eaten at AK is Pizzafari and I wouldnt' recommend that except for a "pizza stop"!!! On this night I might plan the meal at Artist Point, or go to Downtown Disney and eat at Wolfgang Puck Cafe, another of our favorites.

We have the DDE card, so I'm not sure what of this you'd be able to do with your DDP.

I would suggest:

MK: Cosmic Ray's for a CS, we're also very fond of Crystal Palace, Tony's or Columbia Harbour house.

EPCOT: The land or Mexico for CS, and Le Cellier for TS

MGM: ABC Commisary for CS, and either Sci-Fi or 50's Prime Time for TS

AK: Just Rainforest CAfe or Pizzafari

I suggest

MK - counter service would be Cosmic Ray's, I love the caesar salad
table service would be CP if you like the characters

or you could take the monorail to Poly for Kona or Ohana

Epcot - counter service I like the Tangerine Cafe, great rotisserie chicken and rice.
table service we are trying Le Cellier for the first time because of the rave reviews.

MGM - counter service...we have never tried any
table service, we love the 50's Prime Time Cafe, great fried chicken

Animal Kingdom - counter service, we enjoy the Flame Tree BBQ
table service I would go over to AKL and eat at Boma...actually that is what we are going to do this Dec!

RFC is the only TS at AK. How about just hopping on a bus and going over to Boma for dinner. We are doing that on our AK day and it works out really well as the park closes at 5pm. I am really looking forward to the savannah viewing. Enjoy!

Yipee.....something to check out tonight. I have never heard of Boma.

I am so excited.......thanks.......I'll start reading up on the menus!!!

I also planned a family trip and printed out menus - I also planned the park hours out on a "spread sheet" (think computer paper folded in half with our dates penciled in at the top and the park hours at the bottom!! :rotfl2: )

Right now I'm thinking of trying Rose and Crown for a dinner to watch illuminations...

Can I use my DDP at the Rainforest Cafe at AK??? It isn't listed on my papers I printed off the WDW website.

Have you considered OHANA at the Poly? It's my FIL's new favorite place to eat at Disney. We had a wonderful meal there in Jan and are going back in Oct. WE LOVE IT

AK has Donald's Breakfastasaurous... good breakfast food and a nice break from the heat... we always go for the last seating... it's buffet, but even at the end of the meal the food is fresh and the character interaction is fun (even for adults only!) :flower:
