Hi Bryn, and welcome to the DIS!!!
I'll try to answer as many of your questions as I can.
To get your location listed under your username, click on "User CP" at the top of the page, and then click on "Edit Profile" and scroll down to the text box that says "Location" (near the bottom of the page) and type in what you would like, then click "Submit Modifications."
You become a "DIS Veteran" rather than a "welcomed guest" when you have 75 posts. If you want to change this to soemthing else you can do this while you're editing your profile (as above) but enter what you would like in the box beside "custom user text." I don't think that you can do this change manually until you have 30 posts and/or (I'm not sure which) have been here for 30 days, but you can make a post on the
Tech Board for a moderator to change your title for you. (The tech board is great with answering any clipart and other technical questions also.) Otherwise, you will automatically become a DIS Vet when you reach your 75th post.
To put the list of your vacations in your signature automatically, you do this in sort of the same way that you enter your "location." Go to "User CP" and then "Edit Profile" and then scroll down to the text box beside "Signature" and enter whatever you would like at the bottom of each of your posts (i.e. the list of where your vactions for example) in this box, and then click "submit modifications."
To add a picture (clipart) the the bottom of each of your posts, you do this in much the same way as you add the list of your vacations. The only thing different is that you'll need to put the image code there instead of just text. And of course, you can have both an image and text too if you would like. Here is a link to a great thread that will help you get started on clipart.
Clipart Help Link. On this Clipart Help Link, the second link down called "Dan Murphy's Clipart Primer" is a good place to start. Once you pick out clipart that you would like to add to each post and add the image tags around it's URL as described in Dan's clipart post, you add this piece of code to your "Signature" box as described above and it should then show up on every post that you make.
You can send a message to a specific person by sending them a private message (PM). The easiest way to do this is to find a post that the person you would like to talk to has made and then click on the button called "pm" at the bottom of their post.
I hope that this answers all your questions.
