We are doing a 4 night Dream cruise over Halloween. We want to do the parks for a few days prior to the cruise. I have a PIN for a room only discount and booked 3 nights with that. We are doing MNSSHP on the 27th. I need park tickets for 2 days but they will cost us about $650 for our family...no hopping. Yikes! That is about $325 per day and the parks close around 7-8pm those nights. Not sure its worth it. I get the links to UTs ticket discounts, but they don't offer that short of tickets that I have seen. What are some other ways to save on these park tickets? I am used to buying a package thru Disney for 7-8 days, so I never really pay attention to the price of the tickets themselves. Anyone have any tips?
I am leaning towards a one day park/no hopping/ wp&m for around $550 for our family.

Unfortunately, you're choosing the most expensive type of way to tour the parks. There are not any real significant discounts on one or two day tickets. SO it's either just pay it or....Another thought if you are willing to pay a bit more upfront but benefit in the long run would be to get 10 day non-expiring tickets. Even though it will be about twice as much upfront - you can end up with paying about $30 or so per day per person that way. Use 2 days now, and the rest for similar trips in the future. We always buy non-expires (with WP&M to add more days and make overall costs lower per day) and use them when we're going to the parks 3 days or fewer on a trip (like for a conference, or family visit that we just stop quick, or a Universal + WDW trip). When we're going for a week-long trip, we just get them as part of our package since it is about $40 per day that way, instead of the $80+ per day when going for 2 or 3 days....

Not sure if it's feasible in your situation to outlay addiitional upfront, but it is IMO, the best overall value if you're going for just a couple of days and do plan on other trip(s) down the road....

If you plan to return, you might want to consider getting a 10 day no expire ticket through Undercover Tourist (and add WP&M and possibly hoppers if you like that). The original outlay will be more, but if you are planning other shorter trips, it is the most cost effective per day for short trips. You would get 10 days admission and 10 water park or Disney Quest admissions. Even after the park days are used, the water park admissions will still be good.

We are on the same cruise and have the same issue! There are four of us, and we were looking at two one-day tickets. Considering we won't get to WDW until mid-morning at best, we elected to skip one day and will just do MK on that Friday. We are staying at BLT and will do the pool and watch the fireworks from there (if the girls make it that late). Hopefully we can get rested up to hit MK hard.

Wish I could help more.

I agree with PP, if you can afford to buy the 10 day non-expiring tickets with the 10 day water parks and more included, you could use those tickets for years. You are already going to pay $650 for 2 days, that could go towards the cost of the non-expiring tickets, and you could have 20 days at Disney that never expire.

This was something I had been planning on doing but we recently relocated for my DH to take a promotion and lost my income in the process. I only worked a few days a month as a RN to make "fun $$"...aka pay for disney!;)
Since that is gone, spending $2200ish on 10 day tix is probably not going to happen on top of a $4K+ vacation already. I appreciate the suggestion, and I will keep it in mind. We would probably be able to use the tix for 3-4 yrs of vacations, which is a plus. It is just bad timing for the upfront costs.:sad2:
