Help with TAXI question

Can anyone comment if taxi's are frequently available at the main bus stop at most WDW resorts or do you need to have the front desk call one for you?

This would be just to go from one resort to another after lunch if we'd want a quicker way "home" than WDW buses via a park.

Specifically from WL or AK-KV to POP.

Taxis are almost always available, especially at the mods and deluxes, but not at the main bus stop. Instead, go out the main entrance to the hotel (eg where you'd valet park).

To kind of add on: My husband and I were just talking about this, and we don't recall seeing taxis at the main entrances, (at least at AKL and WL.) If there are no taxis out there, who do we ask about getting one? The Valet Parking Cast Member, or inside at the Concierge Desk?

They're generally discretely lined up somewhere just out of sight whenever possible. So, as noted, ask at the valet desk and usually a cab will be there within a few short moments. If you have a larger group and need a van cab, it may take a bit longer.

I saw someone post a link to calculate taxi fares somewhere..... but it kept wanting to estimate from say, WDW resort to Sea World or things like that, not specific resorts inside WDW such as "WL to POP"

Can anyone tell me the approx fares from WL to POP or perhaps even a maximum fare traveling within WDW? Thanks again

WL to Pop should be approx $22 plus tip, it could vary a little depending on the route the cabbie takes. Max fares are probably about $25-$28 plus tip

I asked for them at Bell Services who calls one for me.

Usually they are hanging around in the parking lot someplace. It normally doesn't take long for one to arrive.

I've no idea how long it would take for one if you needed a car seat or a van taxi.

Not long at all. We used taxi vans a lot during our trip in March, and had to wait maybe 3 minutes for them to show. And there is no extra charge for having a taxi van over a taxi car.
