So we are going to buy a light weight stroller for our upcoming Disney trip, and I have it narrowed down to two. Do any of you have these strollers? Which one would be the better choice? My little girl will be 13 months when we go. We have a travel system now and it is way too big to bring with us!

This is the Combi Flare Stroller

And this is the Mia Moda Facile Umbrella Stroller

Hi, I have a Combi, not this exact style. It is super light, it can be hard to turn with one hand. It is a pretty short stroller which works fine for me but is not so great for my husband. Someone recommended the other one in yesterday's allears newsletter. My son was 17 months we went last September we took our Graco Travel lite and I was sooo glad we did. He was so much more comfortable sleeping in it than he would have been in the Combi. It is heavy and bulky but it was worth it for him to be comfy enough to sleep while we were in the parks.

We have a Chicco Capri. I love it! It's only 11 pounds, the sun shade is rounded and adjusts to cover her whole upper body, turns 360 degrees easily. It's been to D.C.(amazing on the subway) WDWx2, DL, LA, and San Francisco. I'll be sad when she outgrows it. The best $60 I've spent, got at Babies R Us.

I have looked at those, too! I will definitely go back and check them out again.

I don' have either ,but I would pick the Mia Moda due to the look of the leg rest. Seems like that would be more comfy for their little legs rather than have them dangling down.

just have to add though I noticed the Mia Moda only carries up to 40 lbs, while right now you are thinking well.... tot only weighs 20 some lbs so NO PROBlemo, then next yr when you want to go and tot weighs at 30 some lbs and it is a bit tougher to push and then when tot is 3 1/2 yrs old and you want to use the stroller she will likely be over the weight limit and you will be starting all over. So word to the wise.... Saying this only on the weight capacity, look into the Maclaran. Good Luck

I'm looking for a stroller too. Top requirements - holds bigger child (36 lbs), reclines a bit, basket, taller handles for tall dh, bigger foot bar (ds likes to slide down and drag his feet otherwise:headache:). Any suggestions? I think I like the Macs best but the plastic strip for a footrest will not work for him.

What about the Maclaren Techno XT?

This has alot of info on the different Maclaren models:

okay just noticed though that the Mac doesn't recline, so how about this one?

ok I know I probably have you more confused. But really, IMHO you need a recline and a decent foot rest with the better weight capacity. This is coming from experience on my getting the Chicco when dd was 15 months old. Now she is turning 3 in Aug and is over the weight limit. sigh.

Thanks for everything! I have never done this before, I will definitely take your word on this. I wanted something that would recline, but didnt even think about the weight limit!

You might want to consider the Maclaren Triumph or Quest, they both recline and hold up to 55lbs I believe.

Combis are short and can be uncomfortable for taller people.

I cant recommend this one enough:

You want one that reclines fully, with kids that age. You need the big basket for all the gear, and oh the cup holders! Its light enough to carry one handed, even if it doesnt fold teeny tiny. And the price cant be beat.

That one looks good, I just didnt add that one to my list because it says for ages 2 and up.

For the poster with the child who likes to drag his feet. Try the Mac Quest (only one that has two footrest positions) as it has the extendable leg rest (usually used for babies). I used that for my niece when we were checking them out and it worked well. She likes to let her legs hang too.

I'm actually going to purchase the Peg Perego P3 even though it has a lower weight limit. She really looked more comfortable in it. It also is cheaper than buying a Quest.

I bought the Zooper Twist from strollerdepot dot com and took it to disney recently for me 20 month old and it was great. Loved the bigger sun shade and the leg rest. It was easy to fold and compact for the bus rides. Has taller handles for my dh who is 6 ft. My 7yr old dd (38lbs) even rode it without any problems. I was originally leaning towards the mac quest but found this and it was a little cheaper and my dh like that better. It was still out of our price range but it turned out to be money well spent.

I have this Baby Trend stroller and am planning to bring it to WDW this September in addition to a Chicco C5.

Here are the Pros & Cons:
Baby Trend: Pros - Good sunshade (will still get a Rayshade), nice basket below, kid tray w/ cup holders, parent tray w/ cup holders, folds small - it folds in half with the seat on the outside, light, mostly easy to push, good height.
Cons: cups holders are small - doesn't fit the playtex sippies I use or a sports water bottle. I think parents one fits a pepsi bottle. Back of the seat is hard (some kind of mdf board) so my little one (DD 12mo.) sits to the side in an uncomfortable looking position. She doesn't really complain though (lol, not that she talks yet). If you want to push in another direction, you have to give it a little oomph to get the wheels headed in the new direction. When folded it doesn't secure very well, the latch easily comes off.

Chicco Pros: Soft seat, reclines, good height, light, easy fold & small - folds umbrella style, very easy to push, good wheels w/ suspension, has a small storage basket, comes with rain cover and pouch on back of the stroller to store it in.
Cons: The storage basket is so small, no cup holders (think I will get something for me - seat is big enough that even DS 3 can tuck a sippy by his side. Both kids are very comfortable when in the seat. Sunshade is pretty small.

If I were making the perfect umbrella stroller, I would combine the best of these two.

Both folds are pretty easy, you should just practice at home so when you have a line of people standing behind you and are holding a baby and diaper bag too you can do it without thinking.

Best of luck!
