Help with SS and UY

Alrighty I'm full of questions today LOL.

I remember going over this when we bought our contract but that was too long ago and I'm getting old.

We have an Oct UY for our SS contract.

If you can't use SS until the resort "opens" in May when do we get our points? Do we get them in May or do we get them in Oct?

I know we begin being billed for our contract in May.

The reason this is important is because I need to bank points.

You get your 2004 points in Oct 2004. The monthly dues payments for 2004 begin in May because that's when the resort opens and the operating costs begin (If the resort was already open, you'd begin paying 2004 dues in Jan 2004.).

Our DVC guide explained to me that those with October use year will only be billed 3 months dues because we can only use the resort for three months. I'm assuming a similar pro-rata for other use years.

Even though you don't get your points until October, you could technically borrow against your Oct '04 points and stay at the resort sooner.

This doesn't really impact when your dues begin. Sounds like you got a couple of conflicting replies on that matter. I'd suggest calling MS.
