Help with special needs son at school

My DS is now in a self contained classroom. They tried to keep him in a traditional classroom with an asst. teacher for him but that did not work. He is autistic and has alot of seizures. He also has alot of axiety and cannot speak very well. He is verbal but it is more like baby talk and hard for other people to understand. They would send him home daily. I was afraid of loosing my job. It took me Several meetings. I even parked my butt at the school district office armed with bags of paperwork so that someone would see me. Do not give up. Ask, ask, ask. If you do not get anywhere with the first person. Keep going.

My son is eight and a half and on the mental level of a 2 year old. I understand that but he still needs the best education he can get. The day he learns his ABC's I will probably cry. But I know he will learn them because I am very persistant!
