Help with Sizzix Original

About 10 years ago I bought the Sizzix Original machine and a set of Lollipop letters. My sister borrowed the letters from me and I forgot to get them from her before we moved to another state. Now my 9 year old daughter is interested in scrap booking so I dug out my old machine and learned that it's pretty obsolete now! I really don't have the money right now to buy a new machine. Are the current letter sets compatible with the old machines? Or is there an add-on or something like that to make them compatible? Thank you for any help!

You can look on ebay, craigs list and FB buy/sell groups for older sizzix dies. At one point they sold an adapter so you could cut thinner sizzlet sized dies in the original red machine. I don't know if it's still available but you might be able to make something that will be thick enough and sturdy enough to get a cut from the thinner dies.

I still see the Sizzlet letter sets being sold at Michael's and ACM. I honestly can't remember if my adapter plate came with my Sizzix originally or if I bought it separately. Bujt I'm SURE you can find it on Ebay.

I still have and still use my Sizzix frequently (and I also own a Cricut). I love being able to use up tiny scraps of paper to cut letters (since I can position the die exactly over the paper where I want it to cut). With my Cricut I usually need a larger piece of paper and there is a lot of waste.

I own about 6 fonts in the Sizzlets. I do occasionally find them on sale or clearance for about $50- $75..... not a big bargain, but not too bad... and you can always find a coupon for M and ACM (but not usually applicable to clearance).

Don't get me wrong.... I also adore my Cricut and use it frequently as well.... but I wouldn't give up my Sizzix either!

BTW, can't your sister mail you the alphabet set?? It would cost less to ship than it would to replace it.
