Help with ride planning for Carsland...

Hey DIS'ers,

Just a question about Carsland...as we are heading there this October from Oct. 5 to Oct. 14 from Vancouver, BC, and my DD will be 4 yrs old and our niece that we are bringing is going to be turning 12 while we are there, also there will be the three adults.

My DD has done Gadgets Go coaster and for the most part seemed to like it, she cannot do Pirates yet (because it is mostly inside and does better when rides are open and bright)...for those that have done RSR...how do you think the RSR's will be for her? She is 103 cm's which is above the 40 inches. She seems to like going "fast" in her daddy's sports car when we drive in it...?

What do you think?

Any helpful "parent" tips from families that have already done Carsland I would greatly appreciate!!

PS/I have also read the posts about break-downs, here is to hoping that by October most of the kinks are worked out

I am also hoping by oct they have kinks worked out. I would say she may be able to go if she is tall enough. I would also consder trying pirates with her its my fav ride and even when my son was young he loved it. Maybe try showing her the ride though on youtube of it, there is one for rsr too.

I will be heading home the day you get there I will try and make sure to post on the boards when we are there about brake downs and stuff. I am ready to only ride it one time hoping that a tue morning i May line up at dca gate early to be one the first to get in an forgo fp's just go for the stand by line to make sure we get to ride One time.

Seeing fp seem to be at 4pm-10pm by the time ppl get to the front of fp line.

Id say wait to see in aug and sep how bad the lines are by then. Good luck tho.

You tube has alot of ride thoughts if you have any other rides your dd may want to watch to check and see how she feels about them.

At 40" your DD will be able to ride BTMRR, Space Mtn, Splash Mtn, and Star Tours.

If your DD is o.k. riding those, then RSR should be fine.

If she likes her rides "open and bright," then Space Mountain is probably not the best possible ride for her...

I think she'd really enjoy it. The indoor part is pretty dark in some places, but it's not really scary, especially if she's familiar with the characters from the movie.

And if she like Gadget's and "going fast", then she'll love the outdoor part!

Hey there neighbor!

FWIW, I went on a trip when I was 11 with my godsister who was 4 at the time. We took her on POTC, and in the lineup she did start to get a little upset at the pirate concept and started to cry. A really awesome Pirates CM reassured her, "Don't worry! We're nice pirates!" and she felt a bit better, and once the ride was over, she wanted to ride it again immediately after!
