Hello! Well we had all our meals set out including the Inventions Halloween Brunch but we are now on a budget :sad1: so need to make a new meal plan. Obviously we know places are expensive but in disneyland terms where's reasonable to eat please? We are a family of five which doesn't help!! Any recommendations much appreciated as we have been spoilt of our last trips eating at Walts, Auberge..... :thumbsup2

I find Annette's in the village is very reasonable, they also have a set menu u can choose from bit otherwise theirs prices are alright.
Buffet restaurants mayb a good idea as plenty of choice for everyone. The hotel buffets are ok, obviously the cheaper hotels have cheaper buffets.
Hope this helps and u have a lovely time!!

Cafe Mickey for lunch/dinner could be okay as you could just order 2 or 3 pizzas to share between you all, with soft drinks each that would be around 70 euros total. Plus it would give you the characters at your table.

Do you prefer buffets, or table service? Walts and the Blue Lagoon may be doing their express lunches, they are very reasonable at around 20 euros for a main course and a cafe gourmand per adult. These are served between 12noon and 3pm, ask your greeter as you enter the restaurant if these are available.

Lucky Nugget (kind of counter service) and Plaza Gardens (full buffet) would be good too - as with both you can choose unlimited soft drinks.

In the Village, La Grange at Billy Bobs is good value (full buffet), and I've recently seen good reviews about King Ludwigs too (table service).

And of course, if you're really on a strict budget food-wise and its just to fuel up during your stay, theres always McDonalds, Earl of Sandwich, and the convenience stores inside the train station :).

We're big lovers of the buffets as kids are pretty fussy.

Rendezvous des Stars, Agrabah Cafe and Chuck Wagon at Cheyenne were the kids faves

We quite liked plaza gardens (the only buffet we've ever done at DLP). My dd was only 2 at the time though so only had to pay for 2 adults

Ohhh... I've never heard of these express lunches! Thanks for the tip!! :)

Express lunches sound good. Does anyone know if there are any example menus online that we could have a look at before we go?

Do you need to book in advance or can you just walk in on the day?

Also, can I ask a silly question - what's a cafe gourmand? :scratchin

as its Walts and the Blue Lagoon where the express lunch menus are served, I'd always book a table in advance.

cafe gourmand is a tea or coffee of your choice, served with 3 mini-desserts. I haven't had the Blue Lagoon version (yet) but I have had the Walts and Cafe Mickey ones - very good value indeed :).

Some of the counter service restaurants are quite decent/good. I was quite pleasantly surprised by the food (and the live entertainment - not sure if this is because of Halloween or weekend though) in the Lucky Nugget, and I quite liked the food in Hakuna Matata as well. The counter service restaurants in the parks tend to be between 10-15 Euros although Lucky Nugget was around 17 Euros.

In the Village there's always McDonald's and Earl of Sandwich where you can get a meal for less than 10 Euros.

If you're willing to venture to Val d'Europe (for some shopping perhaps) then there are also some restaurants there, but am not sure how much they cost. I think you can pick up sushi/etc to go from some of the shops there too.

Just to add on about the express lunches - was at the Blue Lagoon on Saturday at lunch and asked if they still did the express lunch menus. The waitress looked a bit confused and said she had to ask, and came back to me afterwards saying that they didn't do express lunch menus on weekends. I'm not sure if this means they still do them on weekdays?

Also I was at Walt's sometime earlier this year and had to specifically ask for the express lunch menu before they gave it to me (I'm sure this was on a weekend though)...

I would definitely always book a table in advance for Walt's or Blue Lagoon as they can get quite full!
