Hi!
I need help! We are going to OKW May 18 - 23 and if I change my flight dates I can save over $700, but this means that we stay through Memorial Day Weekend and all the DVC two bedroom villas are booked. So I am looking at staying at the Wilderness Cabins and am wondering if we could stay on points? Member Services is closed and I know that Expedia is showing availability so does that automatically mean that the cabins can be rented using DVC points? Or is our availability more limited than that of cash customers?
Thanks in advance for your help.

We've stayed in the FW Cabins before on points...

The point charts aren't fixed like the DVC resorts...

Not sure how many are in your party... But the cabins, probabily sleep six comfortably.... 2 on the Murphy Bed, 2 on the bunk beds, and 2 (maybe 1) on the full size bed in the bed room...

Yes,
But what I wonder is: if I book the cheaper airfare after making sure that FW cabins are available to cash paying customers can I trust that if those same cabins are availalble in the morning then they will let me pay with points instead of cash?
In other words, is there any chance that they will say that we only book a certain number of rooms with points and save the rest for cash customers only?
Or do they treat the points like cash when getting reservations at one of the WDW Collection of Resorts?

Just because there is cash inventory in CRO does not mean MS will be able to book you there on points. I have had multiple times when there was CRO availability, yet I could not book on points at the Poly, Grand Floridian and even the Contemporary. The inventory available to DVC Members is far less than their cash inventory.

If you book outside of DVC resorts, you also have to pay the $95 reservation fee.

If the cabins are available, you will use 33 points a night S-Th and 60 points each Fri and Sat nights. Or 285 for seven nights (Sun-Sun). If you are in the last four months of your UY, you won't be allowed to book these nights. (If your UY is May - Aug, maybe even Sept).
