Help with renting a minivan

Hi folks.
We are flying into MCO on October 1 and returning October 8. We need a minivan. We haven't rented in a while, so I could use a little help getting a good rate. The best so far is with Dollar for just under $500. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Last year, we rented 2 cars from Alamo for about 2/3 the price of a minivan. When we got to the counter, I mentioned this, and they gave me the van instead. Saved us a couple hundred bucks. If it is at all feasible to try two cars, might be worth the gamble.

We decided to drive instead of fly this year since my one daughter would need a ticket this time. We were going to rent a van to drive down but we were looking at $600-700 renting in Ohio. Figured it was cheaper to trade our car in and get a mini-van since we are looking at going in November and twice next year. So we bought a Grand Caravan yesterday.

This is the code that I have my minivan booked under for our October trip. Paying $300 for 7 days. Haven't found anything better

When using the travelocity code, do you have to show any coupon or anything? I am a little nervous about this. It is almost $50 cheaper then my reservation I have now.

No you don't have to show anything. It is a public code.

I went on the Budget website to check out prices for my June 2012 trip. I was coming up with prices well over $700 for 10 days. I got a price of $360 plus taxes with tht code. I think that is a pretty good price. I'm guessing I can make changes to the time I'm going to pick it up as I haven't been able to book a flight yet at a good price.

Since signing up with AutoSlash I have only gone down once. I still have a ways to go until October so I am hopeful. Right now they are $69 more than the reservation I have booked with Budget. Their reservation for me is with Dollar.

My friend saved alot @ Budget with Code W810000. That might help someone. It priced us $80 lower than the travelocity code for our trip in Feb 2012.

Thanks for the code, but it didn't save me any money. It was about $200 more than my current reservation with Budget.

Thanks!! We just shaved $130 off our original price and got a minivan for 13 days for $586!
