My DD is almost 4 and her preschool (3-5 mixed) counts a lot. They count to 10 in every language that any of the teachers know. We're going to Disney this winter, and I thought a nice project to give the school when we got back would be to make a little book of the words for 1-10 in all languages we find at WDW. I thought we would visit all the countries of world showcase and chat with CMs with language pins and such.
My problem is deciding what to put on each page and what sort of story (if any) to put around it.
For world showcase countries I thought that I might make a page for each country with a place to put the CM's name, home and language then a map of the country, the numerals written out with space to write the word, and maybe a picture of DD with the cast member or just the cast member. That's pretty easy, because I already know the names of the countries and can find maps and such in advance and just digitally scrap it together.
What do I do for CMs we meet who aren't associated with a WS country? We'll visit Animal Kingdom Lodge, and I'd like to do some of the African languages, but it's impossible to predict which countries the CMs will be from or which languages they'll speak.
Would it make more sense to do more generic pages with the numbers on them and a facing page with a country map and the picture? Then I could find maps once we got home or use the maps you can get at WS countries instead of clipart maps. Do you think it needs a story or would just an assemblage of scrapbook pages be reasonable?
Any other suggestions? This is the first time I've tried a project like this, and I'd hate to kick myself when we got home for doing something silly.
