Help with post baby tummy

After 3 children I finally got back done to a size 7 this year. Problem is I would be a smaller size if it wasn't for my belly that hangs low. Which means I can not find a good fitting pair of jeans. I always end up with a lump in the front of my jeans and to much room around my waist. I had a c-section and ever since just can not manage to firm the area right around the incision up. I told DH when the kids are older and I can just relax I am going to have a tummy tuck and recover in a spa. I even have a savings fund for it. I exercise daily and stay strict to my diet but that stretched skin just is not gonna move. I am counting down till I have it cut off.

For all those moms that had c sections: When I started complaining about the little pouch that hangs around where the incision was my mom told me she calls hers her "baby smile". If you really look at it it does look like a chubby baby smile! So I'll just have to learn to deal with it!

My problem is the "muffin top" too. I was actually left a little flatter in the belly area but around the hips is a little wider. Looks like it's tankini's instead of bikini's in my future!

:rotfl: Too cute!
I had a c-section too, and although my baby is 2 now, I just remember looking in the mirror while still in the hospital and thinking, "OMG - I look like a wax figure that started to MELT!" :rotfl2:

ROFL! I remember looking at the staples and thinking, "Aw, man - I've got a Frankenbelly!"

It's all scary south of the equator after childbirth, isn't it?

Also had a c-section...some day I'll have the $$$ for a tummy tuck to make it all just go away :rotfl:

Okay Moms my baby is 10 weeks old what can I do about my pouchy tummy?:( This is my fourth so my belly has extra skin. If it wasn't for the extra skin my clothes would fit right. Is there something you guys swear by to suck it in. I have something that covers the belly and thighs. I don't like the thigh part but still need the belly coverage. Help! I hate the post baby body.

okay - my youngest is 10 YEARS - let me know when you find out!!!

Good luck w/that! :)

I don't have the excuse of a C-section and my youngest is 3.5! I still have a baby belly. I'm pretty slender by nature, but I've got this darn baby belly which makes it harder to find clothes. It's not terrible, but noticeable with certain clothes.

Knit dresses- not!
Empire waists- Are the worst- now I look like I'm wearing maternity clothes and my chest isn't big enough to make this work. Not!!
Low cut jeans- make my tummy hang out! Not!
High waist jeans- give my tummy a lump!

LOL!

On the positive side, I have also heard that Pilates is great. I keep telling myself that I'm going to get in shape ...been telling myself for 3.5 years now!

I completely agree! I bought a bunch of cute little babydoll style tops last spring in preparation for our disney trip. I thought I was going to disguise my baby belly - yeah, right! I realized my master plan wasn't going to work the way I intended. Sure, the babydoll tops did an excellent job of hiding my pouch:thumbsup2 However, I had a rude awakening one afternoon as we disembarked a Dis bus on our way back to the resort for an afternoon siesta - DH was carrying DS while I carried the diaper bag and stroller. A very kind stranger asked, "Would you like some help carrying that stroller?" I declined. Then he sounded more concerned, "Are you sure you can handle all that?" I smiled and said that I was all-set and proceeded to get off the bus. It wasn't until I got back into the hotel room and caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror that it clicked! That man thought I was pregnant :lmao:
Needless to say I changed my top before heading back out for the evening :rolleyes1

:lmao: Been there! And I love the look of those empire waist shirts on the manequins, models, pictures. It took me several tries to realize that they just wouldn't work for me!

I am also a big fan on Spanx! I wear the one that goes from thighs to right below your bra! i am thinking I'll need one of those miracle bathing suits that sucks it all in come summer! LOL Maybe if I wear two I will look like i did before i had children! As for getting rid of the pooch I am not sure it is possible. I've been trying since my 8 yr old was born! Thought I had it about under control then had baby #2 (22mnths). Now i am back at the starting line and man am I tired of fighting the baby pooch! Must try pilates!!

Another suggestion: Belly dancing works wonderfully to help tone up the obliques as well as the upper and lower abdominals. Oh, and it's fun...and you get to wear sparkley stuff!

It's good to hear someone else has a hard time losing weight while nursing. I get so discouraged when I hear every other person say that they got back to pre-baby weight because of nursing. I'm always so hungry when I'm nursing.

With my 1st son, I lost a crazy amount of weight, with my daughter, I GAINED a crazy amount of weight, and now with my 2 mo son, my weight just stays put(until I started counting calories and working out - I must agree, Pilates is doing wonders!)

My youngest are 13 .... I dont think I will ever lose the weight from 2 c-sections and 4 kids in 3 1/2 years including a set of twins....

And that is what I tell myself everytime I look in the mirror......:(

and it gets worse the older you get....I think the hormones (or lack of hormones) makes everything drop even lower....:(

When you find out, let me know. My youngest is 7 and I'm still trying to figure it out. :lmao:

I have a 12 and 5 year old and still have the baby body from the 12yr:scared1: I also was still wearing my maternity bathing suit on our wdw trip when the youngest was 2:sad2:
Now my goal is to be fit (not skinny) by 40-just two more years.

I have heard so much about Spanx, am going to WDW in June will it be too hot to wear these? I don't want to look fat and be miserable but then again I don't want to sweat like a stuffed pig and be miserable either. I too have the c-section baby pooch!

I too have the baby pooch. After 3 babies I really don't think that extra skin is going to shrink up. I swear I do my crunches (?sp) every night, I slather on loads of cocoa butter lotion, I have lost 30 pounds in the past 7 - 8 months, and I actually thought I looked pretty good other than the loose skin on my tummy, I thought I looked good in my clothes, so I decided to try on my swimming suit (we'll be at disneyworld in a little over a month) and OMG I look like I am 4 -5 months pregnant in that thing, UGH!!! I guess I'll have to check out the spanx too. Oh and pilates. I did order a new suit though so when that gets here we'll see if I'm going swimming on this trip or not, LOL...

On a serious note, is it even possible to get that extra skin to shrink back up? Or is there a tummy tuck in my future:scared1:

It is so nice to know that I am not alone. This baby pooch following my c-section is really getting me down. I am going to start pilates this weekend.:cool1: :cheer2:
