Help with points

I am going to Disney World the week of Halloween 2012. My boss is letting me use his DVC. He is letting me pick anywhere in Disney World I want to stay but I don't want to take advantage of his kindness. His home resort is Sarotoga Springs. I would like to stay in the Boardwalk. Can someone tell me or point me to a site that would let me look up the points for each place.
He is telling me to pick out a 1 bedroom. I'm just looking for the point difference from Saratoga Springs to The Boardwalk.

There is a DVC point chart at the top of this page in the upper right, under the Timeshare Store banner.

October is a busy time for DVC, due to the F&W at Epcot and MNSSHP at MK. You may find availability tight during the week you are looking at. Your boss should call Member Services to see what is available for the room type you are looking for and book it before someone else snatches it up. If there is availability it would most likely be SSR or OKW, and perhaps a chance for AKV. You may even have to do a split stay between different resorts if availability is scarce.

Edit: Just realized that you said you are going October 2012. I would ask him to book a room at SSR for the week and then at the 7 month mark you could try to switch to another resort, although, as others have said, availability at the 7 month mark during October can be tight. Generally SSR, AKV, OKW and Lake View at BLT are your best bet for getting something at 7 months during that time, but you can always waitlist for BWV if you want to be there. There is not a huge point difference between SSR and BWV.

Wouldn't it be nice if everyone had a boss like yours. If you could get the 1 BR standard view at BWV it will probably be less points than SSR but to get it at the 7 month mark may be difficult. I would discuss with him if he is willing and able to make a reservation at the 11th month mark for SSR and then try to change it at 7 months. That way you are sure of having something.

Yes, October can be hard to get at the BWV, especially the standard view. I'm gonna bet it will be gone before you can book it and you might be able to get the preferred (non-BW views) view at 7 months out. But if he will book SSR at 11 months out and see if he can change at 7 months out, you will be very lucky. The BWV preferred view will require more points than SSR.
