Okay, we're planning a 7 day stay at Disney in August and are trying to decide between the 3rd week (8/20/11-8/27/11) and the 4th week (8/27/11-9/3/11). We've heard that the crowds are lower after mid-August and some say the later, the better. But, the 4th week runs into Labor Day weekend which may cause the crowds to spike. Also, some said rain is more likely the 3rd week and others said the 4th week would be wetter. We assumed both weeks would be the same weather-wise. Prices are the same either week. Any input would be helpful as we want to lock in the dates & rates we found!!
Thanks!! Rose :confused3

I think Labor Day week would be more crowded I would go the earlier week in August :) Have fun planning :)
Our trip 9/12-9/21 was supposed to have rain and it never rained once except the night we arrived as we got off the plane. You just never know :)

I'm looking at the same time period for next year too and am stressed about picking the right/wrong week. WDW is a whole new experience for this West Coaster. :scared1:

We just booked for 8/25 to 9/1/11. we wanted to leave before the start of Labor Day Weekend. We have friends that go the same time every year and they love it.

Check out the "When to go to Walt Disney World" chapter in the Unofficial Guide (you can stand in the aisle at the bookstore to do this if you don't have the book) It looks to me as if the time around Labor Day is pretty packed, so we would opt for another time.

basically the rule is: don't go to Disney when school's have off. parents are more likely to pull their kids close to a vacation day like labor day to take a trip to disney.

By the third week of August everyone in Florida is back in school, but even if you go the fourt week running into Labor Day, the crowds will not be bad. I have been a few times for Labor Day Weekend, and the crowds have never been bad. It's a perfect time of the year to go. Sometimes the Food and Wine Festival starts in early September, and that is a must do!

The crowd calendar actually shows mostly 4's on the 3rd week & mostly 3's on the 4th week. Does that sound about right? We're looking forward to a smaller-crowd visit as we've never had one :)

we've been labor day week 2 different times and it was fine! after that labor day weekend the crowds go away. great time for water parks but it is very hot!! we've always had a good trip during this week!
