I just turned 16, and I decided to have a party. I invited 12 people, all of them very close friends of mine, but only one other person knows them all. Most people know maybe four or five others.

They're coming to my house on Friday from seven to midnight. Any ideas for things to do? Ice breakers?

We'll probably order pizza and maybe watch a movie at some point. Movie ideas too? It's boys and girls.

A little more info- We're all theatre people. I have lots of games. Maybe ideas for a party game?

Thanks so much!

Congrats on 16!! we play a LOT of ice breaker games at youth group, cause no one ever knows everyone. we play I have never, also called ten fingers.

you play by holding up all your fingers and go around the circle in turns. the starter starts by saying I have never______(must be true) any one who HAS done that must put down one of his/her fingers. once you're down to two or three people this can get a bit personal. we have a house rule that states you can't say stuff like 'i've never been a boy/girl' or 'ive never has green eyes' that's just not fair.

Mafia is good to. this one's got to many rules for me to post though, but you prolly know this one. I've never met anyone who hasn't.

board games are always fun.

Poker is good to...we play with chips or somtimes M&Ms.

But heck! you're having a party! the last time I had real party, I was 9!

I don't think you even need to play icebreaker (I wouldn't want to play icebreakers at my party, it might get a little awkward especially with teenagers). You are all theatre kids, so you are all probably pretty outgoing. Just don't start a movie right away, have a little bit of time to talk to each other, and try to get the different "groups" to mix up.

Mafia is a good game. My friends and I have the german version of it though. It's called Werewolf. Of course, the letterings different but that's what it translates to.

Thanks guys! I actually have werewolf- I LOVE that game- such a great idea :)

Me too! When I first started playing it my friend and I were the werewolves several times in a row. We got the others good. Won several rounds. The game was introduced to us by a foreign exchange student from Germany. He was brought into our crazy group and left werewolf as a good bye present.
So in exchange we gave him a regular pack of cards and the rules for Mafia. ;)

Sounds like fun! I think a simple game before the movie would be good. Movie ideas:
-get smart
-the wiz
-rocky
those are just a few I would recomend. Maybe a theater based movie, like the wiz or hello dolly, since you said you were theater kids. Have fun!

play the toilet paper game :D best ice breaker!

you get a roll of toilet paper and pass it around.
tell everyone to take as many peices as they would like, or they can choose to not take any.

after they pick how many they would like you explain the rules.

you sit in a circles and go around one at a time. first you say your name the for however many peices of toilet paper you have you have to tell a fact about yourself. facts can be totally random or basic like age & school.

for the people who chose to not take any toilet paper, they have to remember all of someone elses facts & say their name & facts at the end.
