Ok, I've got a problem (well, if you're an obsessive, compulsive over planner like me it's a problem). Going to DL April 19 - 22 for DS's 30th birthday. Our flight gets into SNA at 9:30 am so we've got Thurs, Fri, Sat in the parks. The flight home was SUPPOSED to leave at 8:15 am Sunday morning. Just got an e-mail and the flight home has been rescheduled to 3:30 p.m. and there isn't an earlier option out. This gives us 1/2 a day more at DL than we'd thought we'd have. HORRID problem to have :rotfl:

Originally I'd planned on spending 3 or 4 hours late Sat. afternoon/early Sat. evening at DTD (3 adult women = lots of shopping), but now I don't know if it's better to save the shopping for Sunday morning and spend that time on Sat. in the parks, or if it'd be better to try to add an extra day to our tickets (did the promotional online $199 3-day ph passes) and still do DTD Sat. afternoon and spend Sun. morning in the parks (for what it's worth touring plan's crowd calculator has Sat. as a 6 and Sun. as an 8). BIG part of the problem I'm having making a decision is that I can't find operating hours for any of the DTD stores ANYWHERE to even know if they'd be open early enough on Sun. morning to make shopping then feasable. :confused3

Thoughts, ideas, suggestions?????

THANKS!!!!!!

My thoughts (and I'm probably going to get my 'man card' revoked for this)...

Why don't you skip a busy Saturday in the park, use that day of your pass on Sunday, and go to the giant outlet mall in either Palm Desert or Carlsbad (about 1.5 hrs either way). That way you can get some serious shopping in, since there are likely only a few stores in DTD that you would even be interested in going into as adults. You can probably see and shop everywhere you want to in DTD in the span of an hour.

Your son can sit by the pool and girl watch, go hang out at the ESPN zone and have some wings and beer, or there might even be an Angels game on that he could go to the ballpark and see.

Just checked. The Angels are at home that weekend against Baltimore (they haven't posted on the mlb website whether the Saturday game is day or night).

Much like I do with my Wife and Daughter, I tell them to have fun shopping and I head down to the ballpark and spend three hours in the sun watching a ballgame, having a hot dog and an adult beverage (or two). We then circle back later in the day and everyone is happy because they got to spend the day doing what they wanted to. I love being with my family, but four hours apart isn't going to put a serious crimp in our family time.

Since Sunday isn't really a full day in the parks, I would just stick to your plan of going to the parks Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, and then Sunday would be the DTD shopping day until you had to leave for the airport.

I agree with sonnyjane. I would keep the 3 full days in the park Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Then spend Sunday morning packing-up, shopping and walking around DTD and maybe even do a nice brunch at Storytellers, Goofy's, or Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen.
