Help with my Fantasmic Plan

Planning on seeing second show of Fantasmic on Dec 18, EMH night at MGM. I have read to avoid EMH parks but have also read to attend a second show. Decided not to do package. My plan is dinner at 4:00 (Mama Rosa's) and go on rides while others are in line or watching first Fantasmic. Will park be super crowded and lines long? Thanks for any info.

We have never found the second Fantasmic as crowded as the first one and we tend to always go in the summer. Granted, I don't think we've ever seen Fantasmic on an EMH night, but I think you should be fine. However, you should still get to the theater at least 30 minutes prior to showtime. The late show isn't empty and I have seen it full (although it usually doesn't get full until the last minute). So, enjoy the rides while others are in Fantasmic, but get to the show at least 30 minutes early.

We saw Phantasmic on an EMH night, did the second show. Got there about 25 minutes before showtime, and CM's were lining people up in the street, it seemed like a long line. BUt we followed the line in and got a seat right up front. I would definitely recommend teh second show. My husband joined us about 5 minutes before the show. He had decided at the last minute to see it and walked right in. There were still plenty of seays available.

Probably a dumb question, but is the 8:30 showing of fantasmic on 18 December only open to resort guests?

If you're going to the second showing (which you should) then you wont have a terrible problem with crowds.
