We are going for 2 1/2 days during Thanksgiving week with park hoppers. We are hoping for Magic Kingdom (party day)/Hollywood Studios on day 1 and Animal Kingdom/Epcot on day 2. The half day will be Magic Kingdom. I am concerned we will not be able to get any good lightning lanes in the 2nd parks if we start with Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom. We will have EEH in Epcot on day 2. We are comfortable rope dropping. If I want to do the highlights at Hollywood Studios (Star Wars, MMRR, TSM etc.), and Remy and Frozen at Epcot should I reserve lightning lanes for the 2nd park 7 days out and hope for the best for our first park? Or will there be availability day of for the 2nd park if I reserve the 1st park? Thank you!!!

Even with availability in the morning at the second park, there is almost no chance you're going to get more than one tier 1 because by the time you tap into your first LL and can book another tier 1, it will be hours after everyone else has had that opportunity. When I was in the parks the beginning of October, I was able to get two tier 1s at HS in the morning and two more at MK in the afternoon, evening. But that was at a much less busy time. I would treat HS as if you're paying the MP price for a SP on one of them and pay for SP where you can.

Similar question... going in early January.

Is it worth getting if you're going to hop? And how soon would I need to be deciding what parks & what rides to reserve?
Is 7-day advance a must?

I need to just go watch some videos, my fear is they are old & not up to date. lol

I think it depends on what expected crowd levels and what the uptake on the MP is. When I went at the very beginning of October, I feel it was worth it for us for one day to ensure some of the rides at HS. Once we did those, we started booking at MK and got a couple of things we wanted. We probably could have done everything we wanted standby, but Slinky would have been rough waiting in that line when it was 95 out. We booked at 7+4 and got a morning slot for Slinky, but if all you're seeing is late afternoon, I wouldn't do it.

Yea, actually Touring Plans has all the days/parks listed at crowd level 5 or less, except DHS is an 8, so i'm thinking of grabbing it that day, but i honestly wont even ride Slinky. lol

Maybe i'll really be using to stack rides later? How does that work when you buy it 7 days in advanced?

I'd recommend watching some recent youtube videos by Ear Scouts or Mammoth Club. 'Stacking' is no longer an option. You can hold 3 LLs at a time but there is a lot to learn about those also.
