We are going to have two rooms next time we go (hopefully join ones) Do we leave a tip in each room for mousekeeping?

If your rooms are next to each other, the possibility that your mousekeeper is the same is very high. If that's the case and you want to leave just one tip, I would leave a note for the mousekeeper letting them know is for room so-and-so and room so-and-so.

If the rooms are separated by several rooms, you might have two different mousekeepers. In that case, I would leave two separate tips.

All that being said, I hope this doesn't turn into one of the debate posts. It seems like every time somebody asks about tipping somebody has to get all mad and puffy. I am definitely a tipper but there are others who say they don't. To each his own.

You know what, I've never, ever tipped at a hotel. And I too dont want this to turn into a debate about it, but I do have a question. Where do you leave the tip in the first place so they know it's for them? I've walked out and left change and even a few bills, and it's always been there when I've returned.

If I'm just staying in a hotel overnight, I don't usually tip. In that scenario, we don't unpack all of our stuff and our room isn't cluttered or really "used".

We stay at Disney 10 days so our room is "lived in". We unpack everything, have dirty towels and linens, stuff is all around, etc. That's why I tip.

I usually leave our mousekeeper a note on the nightstand with the money on top of the note. I don't budget for tips like some Disboard members do. Usually, I tip $1.00 per person per day (3 in our party). If I only have two $1 bills and some change, that's what I leave. By day three or four, we have tons of change and that's what I leave.

I was going to ask why you do it daily instead of once at the end of trip, but they realized that the same mousekeeper may not do it the whole time :). Hey, I'm not proud, I'll throw my stupid thoughts out for everyone to see :rotfl2:  :woohoo:

DH and I would leave a tip each day with a thank you note to mousekeeping. It worked our really well for us. Mousekeeping was awesome for us. She would even take the time each day to create something special for my DD (who was 1 at the time) each day. We loved our Mousekeeping lady

I'm not sure I would leave change around that you didn't want the mouse keeper to take.

When I put the tip out, I fan it out on the sink on a facial tissue.
