Help with Microsoft Word, please!

When I am using Times New Roman font, the letters are typing OVER each other instead of next to each other!!! I must have accidentally hit something to make it do this, but can't figure out how to un-do it!

Can anyone help me?

go to your font dialogue box and check your character spacing.

Hit the insert key and that will turn it off.

My stand-by for when computers do weird things. Close the app and see if it goes away. Same as restarting machine and see if that fixes other problems.

Dh managed to fix it. He thinks it was a problem with a template. I have no idea what that means.

Oh, and I had already tried the turn-it-off-and-turn-it-back-on approach. That's always the first thing I do! LOL!

It wasn't the insert key. It was actually typing letter upon letter. So, I ended up with big black blobs. In other words, it wasn't replacing letters over each other. It was keeping them all!
