I am planning my family's first trip to Disney. We will be traveling with myself, my husband and our twin boys (3yrs). My husband and I have been when we we were children, but not in years. We are going for 5 nights, 6 days on the Dining Plan in October. I need to make our reservations for our meals and am trying to decide on Character meals. How many character meals, do you typically try to schedule in 1 trip? Our boys our not huge typically Disney character fans, I wish they had a meal with the Incredibles or Buzz. But so far I have Chef Mickey's and Donald's Breakfastosaurus. Are these enough, what other recommendations do you have?

My kids always liked the Crystal Palace with Pooh, Eeyore, Tigger & Piglet. You may want to post over on the Restaurant Board, I'm sure you'd get lots of good feedback.

My kids love character meals. I try to schedule a few and try not to duplicate characters.

So I always do one with either Mickey or Minnie, and friends so that means either Chef Mickey's, LTT dinner (no Mickey but Minnie and friends are there), Breakfastosaurus (has Donald & Mickey), Cape May breakfast (has Minnie and friends - no Mickey), Ohana's breakfast with Mickey and Stitch and friends, or Garden Grill which has Mickey and friends. My favorite is Chef Mickey's.

For Pooh, we always do Crystal Palace breakfast or dinner. My girls LOVED the breakfast; I enjoyed both.

The rest of the character meals are geared toward girls...PSB and CRT and 1900 Park Fare dinner.

Good luck deciding.

My boys loved Crystal Palace for lunch and their absolute favourite was Chef Mickey's for dinner. We also went to 1900 Park Fare and the Castle for my daughter, but my boys didn't really care for the princesses. In fact, my 3 yr old actually hid under the table when he saw Sleeping Beauty getting closer to our table! I agree, a Buzz Lightyear/Incredibles meal would be great!

There is another thread on the site which involves a "new" character dining experience in MGM at with Incredibles and Toy Story characters that is supposed to be starting in April. Ask CM when making ADR if they are taking reservations yet. Check in Restaurant forum for the thread.

My son (8) loved Chef Mickey's. On our 6d/5n trip in Feb, we had 3 character meals, CMT, Chef Mickey and Garden Grill. It was enough to get most of the autograph and character time that the kids wanted without having to wait in 30-45 min long lines in the parks.

Chef Mickey's would be my top pick for 3 yr old boys, too. Be sure to stay long enough for the napkin-waving, everyone-dancing celebration that takes place every so often!

If your guys are outgoing and not easily intimidated, don't miss Whispering Canyon in the Wilderness Lodge for dinner. No identifyable Disney characters, but a fabulous wait staff who are their own brand of characters; fun stuff like stick-pony races around the restaurant and picking on guests who ask for ketchup, etc.
