We are coming down to WDW on June 5, and I have a question regarding the delivery of our bags from Magical Express. Our flight gets into Orlando at 2:15pm on 06/05. I'm wondering when we should expect to see our luggage arrive from ME. We are staying at the Wilderness Lodge and have a 6:45pm ADR at Cape May Cafe. I want to know if maybe we should pack the change of clothes for dinner in our carry on luggage.

It would be a good idea to pack what you need for the first 12-24 hours of your trip regardless of whether you are using DME or not.

That said, if your flight is on time you can expect to be at your resort between about 3:15 p.m. and 3:45 p.m. Your bags could be delivered to your room as late as 6:15 p.m. or 6:45 p.m. under normal circumstances, so even if everything is running on schedule it's entirely possible that your bags would not arrive in time for you to have access to items you may need for your dinner plans.

You should always have your carry-on luggage prepared with whatever you'll need for the first 24 hours at your destination (even if that's home--you never know when a flight migh be diverted).

I believe they tell you 4 hours. I've never been in my room to see their arrival. I always take a change of clothes in my carry on whenever I fly as bags are delayed or get lost.

great advice and even better for ME...............ya just never know and with transport to your dining reservation OP, its worth the peace of mind.
have a great trip!!!

I always pack a change of clothes in my carryon if I check bags..you just never know if your checked bags are going to go 'walk-about'!!

In any case...if your 2:15 flight lands ontime, you should be at WL by 4pm...probably a bit sooner. Your bags are supposed to be in your room up to 4 hrs after resort checkin...so that would be by 8pm....too late for your ADR.
They may very well be in the room sooner than that. But if you have a 6:45 ADR at Cape May, you most likely won't have the bags in time to change using checked bags.
I don't know what you plan on doing between arrival and your ADR..I imagine you won't have time to go to a park in between those two. SO...with that in mind, I would take the boat from WL over to MK and then hop on the YC/BC bus for dinner. I would do that by 5:15ish, no later than 5:30. Don't want to be too rushed.
