We leave in a week and a half. My three daughters ages 14, 14 and 19. My 19 year olds boyfriend also 19, and one of my 14 year olds best friend, along with me and my girlfriend who is a glutten for punishment. We have a layover from OVD to Fort Lauderdale (3 hours) the to Orlando. The boy friend somehow made a mistake and his layover is 4 hours. He picked the wrong flight. If we can try to get him on standby will ME take him to the hotel? He is scheduled to ride ME an hour after us, but we are hoping to get him there with us.

Does anyone know if ME will let him on the bus if he is scheduled for a later ride? I do not want to change the reservation to the early time unless we know for sure he is on early with us. Please help...

No problem at all. The only time you are scheduled for a specific bus is going from the resort back to the airport. The buses from the airport to the resort are basically first come, first served. When you get off the plane, take the tram to the main terminal, then go down to the first floor to the DME area. There are chairs across from it. Just wait there for him, then all get in line together and they will put you in the line with other guests going to your resort. I did this in May 2009. I was meeting fellow DISer down there. I was flying in from Texas and she was coming in about an hour later from New Hampshire. I just hung around across from the DME area and then we got in line together and got on the same bus to our resort. Lots of people do this. Maybe they are arriving around meal time with small hungry kids, so they decide to eat and maybe do a little shopping in the airport, prior to catching a DME bus.

Again you can only do this for the buses going from the airport to the resorts. When going home, you are assigned a specific bus that will be leaving your resort about 3 hours prior to your flight. If you miss that bus, Disney is under no obligation to get you on another. I have personally seen people that missed their assigned bus back to the airport, being turned away from the next bus (with them yelling that they were going to miss their flight if they didn't get on that bus).

As already noted, there are no 'specific' buses that guests are assigned to upon arrival at MCO. If your dd's bf can't get on standby, then just hang out an wait for him at MCO. Grab a bite to eat and relax until he gets there....then head down to DME checkin.
If he can get on standby, then no problem. He just heads to DME checkin with you.
Either way...you are put on the next bus to your particular resort.

Thank you both for the help, that is one ess thing I have to worry about :)
