We're planning an Intimate wedding in August, on a pretty tight budget...

We're also planning on a 10am service to try to beat the heat a little.

So, I'm trying to pick a place we can all (maybe 20 people total, but possibly a few less, not sure how many Michiganders will actually make it!) go to eat lunch afterwards that isn't counter style, but also won't cost us a ton having to have a $4000 minimum like some of the places at the GF.

Most of the fun places I have looked at and thought about only seem to do dinner.

Any ideas from all of you Disney Vets?? This will only be my 3rd trip to Disney World ever! I soo appreciate it!

We're having an escape wedding in October and I was having a hard time finding someplace that would work out for lunch.

I ended up going with the Grand Floridian cafe.
Personally, I've never been inside, but it looks really nice in pictures.
I have zero trouble booking an ADR for 19 of us, and I just made them when I made all of my other ADR's for dining.

I just hope it's as nice as it appears, and the food is good.

Lunch is tough, because like you said, so many restaurants just do dinner. We ate at Downtown Disney's Portobello Yacht Club. It's sort of an Italian place, I guess, next to the big boat (Fulton's Crab House, which is also a possibility, but has almost all seafood, which is why we went for Portobello's that has lots of variety). It was great because they don't have heavy lunch traffic. I think it was the 14 of us and like one other table.

You can either go there and order directly off the menu like we did or call their sales department (I have the number at my office if you'd like it) and speak to Lindsey. She can make up personalized menus if you would prefer your guests only order certain items. Great food, nice location. We had the limo pick us up and take us there, then bring us back.

Hope that helps!

we are having a 12:00 wedding and ran into the same problem. We decided on tea at Gardenview first and then dinner at 1900 Park Fare. This should still only cost us around $1000. Since your wedding is earlier I'm not sure if that would work but somewhere in downtown disney could be fun! I don't know why more Disney restaurants don't serve lunch...grr!

thanks so much ladies! all of these ideas are great! i did think about Portobello's actually. the GF cafe sounds great too, and less expensive!!

Hi! Unfortunately, most of the WDW restaurants that serve lunch are located in the theme parks (no wedding attire permitted :sad2: )...so, if you are like me and want to get the most use out of your big, white dress ;) , it's probably good to go w/ one of the posted suggestions! To add to the list, Kona Cafe at the Polynesian serves lunch -totally different theming than what the GF offers, but the food is good.
I haven't been to the GF Cafe for a wedding, but I have eaten there twice during a stay (but I think it was dinner). At any rate, the food was very good and the CM's there were very nice.....I hope that helps a little! :goodvibes
Good luck and happy planning!!!!

Oh, forgot to mention that you can go to allears.net, click on dining, and find menus with pricing. Good luck!

Grand Floridian Cafe? Very pretty, great service and wonderful backdrop for extra photos.

You could also think about a high tea after your ceremony...

We had our wedding dinner for 20 people at Raglan Road. They also serve lunch. We ended up under $500 and that included cocktails & appetizers!
