Hi, the UPS man (love him) just delivered a Lowepro Slingshot 100 AW photo bag.

I bought one and returned it before my Disney trip last year, because it just wasn't comfortable. I'm still looking for a bag to take my T1i to the parks, and I've read soooo many positive reviews for this bag, so I figured it was something I was doing wrong and ordered it again.

For anyone who has this bag, is it for men only???? I ask because I cannot figure out how to get it to fit. I seem to have something getting in the way ;)

The instructions don't say how to wear it, and if I follow the pictures, it just doesn't work with, well, my girls...

Help?

I got back pain from carrying it on one side and seldom use mine. Let me know what you come up with. I'm still looking for the right bag.

The only way I found to make it comfortable was to let the strap all the way out and wear it toward the outside of my shoulder and hanging down very low.

They have a video on youtube showing how to put it on. I usually unsnap mine to get it on or off if I have a hat on.

As far as comfort goes, it get tiring after a while especially if you load it! Keep it light and you should be ok...

Make sure you have it across your right shoulder. That's the only way it works. I usually put the strap over my head and onto my shoulder, then tighten the strap.Works great, but I'm a guy.

I was not wild about my Slingshot either (being a lefty did not help)... After the first two days at WDW, I reverted back to my old Mickey bag (a one strap type of deal with zippers on the front with a picture of Mickey on it).

I was not a huge fan of the Slingshot either although I still have mine and use it just to protect the lenses I do not always have in my regular bag. I went to a full backpack style and really like the one I now have (Kata DR467). For me the slingshot was just to uncomfortable to wear and use. I am currently in the market for another bag and will definitely be getting another backpack style bag.

I have the Lowepro Fastpack 200 Camera Backpack. It is going on its first disney trip next month. I have taken it to San Francisco and a few family picnics. So far I love it. We will see how it stands up in the land.

I was worried about ordering the slingshot because so many women said they had problems with it but it has now gone on three vacations with us (one being Disney) and I didn't have a problem. I felt it was balanced and most of the time I was wearing my camera around my neck too. I didn't have a problem with the front part but I regularly carry a cross body purse so I guess I'm just used to it.

I have a small bag that carries just the camera (no extra lenses) but I almost always use my Slingshot 100 because I find it more comfortable to carry (plus I have everything I might need). I wear it so the strap hits my right collarbone and comes just under my left arm and it's not too bad (though I try to remember to take it off if I'm in the picture because it looks a little awkward). This makes the strap pretty close to horizontal, but it doesn't hit anything in an awkward way. Trying to wear the strap more up and down doesn't work for me (I'm also a woman).

I'm convinced I'll be on the never ending journey of perfect bag hunt.

Started with the LP Slingshot 200 and found it uncomfortable across the chest and restricted my breathing. Sold it and bought the Flipside 400 AW and while I love the bag it gets very heavy loaded up to capacity so I use it mainly as a transport bag and bought a Tamrac Velocity 8. Nice bag, but still uncomfortable with the sling style. So on the prowl again.

I mostly use my OPTECH Utility strap (sort of like the BR) its very comfortable with my Oly E30 and any lens. Just need to figure a way to carry a couple of lenses/flash when in the park and someplace to put the camera to protect it on rides or when not slinging on the strap.

Make sure you have it across your right shoulder. That's the only way it works. I usually put the strap over my head and onto my shoulder, then tighten the strap.Works great, but I'm a guy.

I second this. The right shoulder is the only way to wear it comfortably.

I wrote to Lowepro and they admitted that the Slingshot won't work for everyone, especially women, and suggested I get a backpack style - which is what I didn't want because my back will sweat too much in the Disney sun :)

I was able to adjust the straps to fit and I took it out for a test run around town. The only way the straps don't crush my chest also make the strap barely sit on my shoulder. So while it wasn't too bad, especially fully loaded with gear, I think I might get a back ache from walking funny so it doesn't slide off my shoulder.

Oh, well. I'm out of budget to try anything else before the trip next week, so I'll just have to pick a lens in the morning and stick with it. I rarely switch them up anyway.

And I'll keep watching for a solution for next time! :goodvibes

When DW carries it the strap sits right between her "girls", and that's okay comfort-wise for her.

I will say that it really, um, accentuates, the girls when she carries the bag.
