Hi! I am just looking for help with my iPhone at WDW. I jus want to use the free wifi wherever I am, and not use my data/cellular plan. Can anyone tell me the steps to do to the phone to make this happen?

I think I turn off data roaming but need a second opinion on this one from someone who has done it. Thanks!:goodvibes

here are the steps for Iphone 4s

step 1: go to settings
step 2: go to Cellular
step 3: turn off cellular data and turn off Data Roaming
step 4: go to wifi
step 5: turn wifi on and use the disney wifi

when you get home just turn cellular data back on.
hope this helps

YEs it does, I was just nervous and wanted reassurance of the steps. Thanks for taking the time to reply.:flower3:

You can still iMessage relatives friends back home too, just make sure you're connected to wifi and it doesn't change to text (green). I even go to settings, message and turn off send as SMS if iMessage doesn't go thru, just to be safe....

I had a similar issue when I crossed the border with my iPhone. I thought I had done the right thing by turning off data roaming, as well as 'send as text', but it wasn't enough and I got dinged for sending text messages to someone who had an iPhone as well (therefore I wasn't using iMessage for free, as I thought I was). An Apple store rep told me to turn my phone to Airplane mode, then turn wifi back on manually. This worked perfectly last time I crossed the border. When in airplane mode, your phone won't access the cell network, even if you're connected to wifi at the time (he said that it will usually use the stronger signal). You won't have any surprises on your next bill anyway!

Just checking----the parks don't have wifi, do they? Just the hotels?

With the new FP+ I was hoping to be able to change my FP+ on the move in parks but I didn't want to buy a plan for my phone.

They do have in park wifi, but reports are it is spotty and slow. I put a plan on my phone that included data for our trip in October, the one time I needed to change a fp+ in the park (dhs), it was very slow. Can't recall if I was using cell data or wifi at that time. In-room wifi at BLT was fine, no problems.

All the parks have wifi. We where there in August and the only park we had problems in was Epcot and we where told ahead of time wifi is spotty at Epcot. The wifi was surprisingly great at Magic Kingdom.

We were there 2 weeks ago and wifi works awesome.... Only time I had issue was the sold out MVMCP party and only for about a 1/2 hr. :)

That was our experience also a month ago. It worked great. It was spotty a year ago but they have made great improvements in that time. We had no problems anywhere. I streamed video in MK and changed FPs on the fly. Worked great.
