We have only a few days left before we leave (late Wednesday night) will be getting to San Diego on Thursday the 26th. We are spending 4 nights total there, we already have a place reserved for our last two nights (Hyatt Manchester downtown SD) but I'm torn between the Dana Inn & Marina or the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay for the first two nights. We wil be getting into downtown SD with Amtrak and then either taking a cab (or the shuttle for the Dana costs $18) and then spending the first day lounging by the pool and relaxing, the next day going to Seaworld. Dana has a free shuttle to Seaworld and free wifi. Both places we've booked a 1 bdroom suite, the prices are similar, but actually the Hyatt has 2 breakfasts + parking (just the way it worked out, even if we're not planning on renting a car) for about $18 cheaper overall. The Hyatt charges for internet services though, I think it's about $10-12/day, although we won't need this unless my daughter takes her laptop, and even if she does, she really doesn't need to use it we have our iphones.

Any experiences with either of these properties? :confused3 The Dana is about #35 on Trip Advisor, whereas the Hyatt is #96, I don't go strictly on these reviews though, oddly enough, it's reversed on Yelp, with the Hyatt being a lot higher rated. I trust the Disboards members experiences, so therefore I would love your opinions if you have any. :surfweb:

Thank you! Kelly

*BUMP*I'm also throwing another hotel into the mix, I have been researching this hotel, and if we stay here, we would stay for the entire 4 nights, it's right on the ocean, it's called the Ocean Park Inn in the Pacific Beach area. www.oceanparkinn.com
it's within walking distance of many restaurants and shops, kind of a layed back neighborhood, but at night, lively with bars/music etc. We have two teenagers who can't partake of such things, but they would be thrilled with the vibe!

We decided to stay at the Dana. My mom just cancelled the Hyatt Regency. We are so excited to get there! ;)
