Hey all, planning a trip for Thanksgiving this year. I am looking at booking direct with Disney or on getaway today, there doesn't seem to be a huge difference in price, but with tickets going up I want to finalize this now. Where would you rather stay and experiences if you please? We stayed at the Courtyard 2 years ago and it was great but it's a long walk in the heat.

Tropicana

Best Western PPI

Best Western Anaheim Inn

Camelot

Fairfield

Grand Legacy

It's only going to save me around 100-200 booking separately and I like that I have the option to cancel up to a month before with Disneyland.com. Help! I never book like this for DL!

I stay at the Tropicana and it is nice. It is nothing special but it is really close and it is clean and quiet. And the shop onsite came in handy more than a few times for me.

We love BWPPI. It's clean, quiet, and the staff is very friendly. VERY close... like walk out of our motel room and go straight to the crosswalk close. They offer a free breakfast as well.

ETA: The rooms have been recently remodeled.

I don't know of any benefit of booking an offsite hotel with Disney though - I have heard of people having much better rates booking directly with the hotel.

We love the Anaheim Inn. We've stayed there the last few times we've gone to Disneyland. Super quick 5 min walk to security, hot breakfast, comfy rooms.

We always stay at BW Park Place or Tropicana. Both have been remodeled and are nice. We never stay on property and we have no regrets, because we are never in our room! :)

If you are going to book through a place, I would suggest Costco. You would be able to make payments, just like Disney, the cost is the same as Disney, but, you get a couple of extra perks. (One character meal, for example).

Book direct with BWPPI. You may need to call. Often their computers aren't updated.
If that's not available my next choice is Camelot.

Buy your tickets through Last Minute Travel Club. Get a free membership by declining every time it offers you a membership at a lower price. I had to click through 3-4x. Then click on Anaheim activities, not Disneyland specifically.

Spent 5 nights at the Tropicana last month, and would recommend it for someone looking for a good room to crash in that is close. I could nitpick the place a bit but I won't. The value is there for a clean quiet room that is close to DLR.

We'll be staying there again next trip to DLR.

I guess you still get the Disney Travel lanyard and pin, and luggage tag. But I was told they no longer ship these so they will be waiting at the hotel. I called to book since some hotels weren't showing right online. I got a tentative reservation booked with Tropicana, mainly to lock in the ticket rate before the increase. Still doing some research and will finalize plans tomorrow before it happens lol. I'm sure they won't raise too much, but since my son will be 3 then and we have to pay for him, every little bit helps.

BWPPI and Tropicana are our go to hotels. We like both of them, nothing special but clean and close. This year we're staying at the Desert Inn because of budget so hopefully it's ok!

We love the Tropicana as the rooms were refurbished in 2017. Great staff, easy walk and store make for a nice stay. It's our go to when we don't get to use our DVC points at the VGC or get a convention rate at another DLR hotel.

With Costco, you also receive one premium character meal in addition to the lanyard, pin, luggage tag and discounts to certain places in DTD.

I'm not a Costco member! LOL. Welcome to Costco, I love you!

Their cost is the same as purchasing from Disney direct. I would suggest a membership. Now, the executive one, I believe gets the 2% back as the other stuff.

I used my moms membership number and booked at BWPPI last night. Closest hotel, breakfast, mini suite, and the premium character dining, plus I think I still get the lanyard? They no longer ship so I wo't know until I get there. Thank you everyone for the help!

Woohoo! This is great! Yes, the lanyard and a cute pin. Have fun.

I have only stayed at BWPPI from your list. Stayed there twice. Very close to the parks and they have a good breakfast.

I have also stayed at Dessert Inn & Suites. I would stay at either again. Depending on how many are going and prices would be the factor for me as to which one. Also would have to add in a few $ for coffee if staying at DI&S (the coffee there was terrible - my mom would go next door to Denny's and grab us each one in the morning).
