DD is 7 and has shoulder length hair which is naturally a bit wavy and unruly. I usually just tie it back in a ponytail at Disney but sometimes I think it would be nicer to try something different.

Any ideas?

I will attempt almost anything but I don't like too many thing in her hair like dangles and the like.

thanks!

My 2 younger dds have almost waist-long hair that tangle as fast as you can brush it!:rotfl: I usually put their hair in one or two braids when we're in Florida so their hair doesn't get full of suntan lotion or get tangled when they're swimming or on the rides. :)

Dd14 also had long, curly hair but when she turned 13 and decided she liked the shaggy 80's British punk look and chopped it all off!:scared1:

We did two buns, similar to princess leia but higher, many people thought they looked like Mickey ears. Beast and Stitch even played with them and made our dd laugh. We also did two braids. Both looked very cute.

We have lots of great pictures of the characters (especially Goofy) playing with our dds' braids!
Though one of my favourite pics is of Thing 1 and Thing 2 at Universal Studios comparing their hair to dd14's hair when it rained and her perfectly straighted style turned into a mass of ringlets!:rotfl2:

I like close to the nape of the neck pigtails, it's not so in-your-face cutesy pie but still cute and controlled with little effort.

just remember June will be nippy hot!!!! so whatever you decide i would choose a style to keep her cool. The shops in disney have all these cool hair bands, elastics, scrunchies for kids with mickey minnie on them. Im 42yrs old and I bought some for myself as they were sooo cute. i dont know if shes fair skinned or not but you might consider her wearing a hat/cap of some kind anyway...walking about the sun can be fierce. You could always pull her hair through the hole in the back of a cute pink minnie cap or similar:thumbsup2

Why not a french braid? Nicer than a hanging pony.
SO pretty, looks neat and is off the neck to keep her cool. You can add Disney clips (they're so cheap at the resorts) and look so pretty in many colors!! You can flip it under and it looks even dressier and it is just so sweet!

Just remember that if you are going to part her hair that you add sunblock to her part. Their scalps burn quickly in the Florida sun!

If you can get it in a mid to high ponytail I'd put it in a bun. Either that or french braids. DD is 5 and her hair is past the middle of her back and tangles like crazy. I got a bun maker from Claires and it is awesome! Easy to put in and keeps it all under control. It also looks adorable with her Princess Tiaras.

we also do the low lying pig tales with our mid child. Her hair tends to really be unruly. We also usually tend to just put it up in a pony tail.
Also sometimes we put it all up in a bun and I bought one of those comb type crowns. and put that around the bun. This makes her feel like she is all done up with out paying for the BBB.
Then sometimes I also just put a little spray gel in it and then pull one side back with a clip.

When I was younger and we would go I would do pigtails per say but they were french braided all the way down. My dd's hair is too fine to do that w/ so we do the princess leia buns as well but so neat. We have them w/ a fan like look or even just little bits and pieces kind of sticking out. When I do the buns I do the zig zag part through the center.
