I am making a list of items to order for our AKV stay in January. There will be 8 of us, all adults. We plan to eat breakfast in the room and have plenty of snack to take to parks. Most evening meals will be in the parks but I want to have some quick foods at the villa for late night snacks. Can you tell me what items you have ordered from GG? I have milk, bread, water on the list but need other ideas...
TIA for the help!

Fruit, beef jerky, Clif bars, cheese sticks, fruit leather, cookies--vanilla wafers, pop, bagels, fruit cups, hummus, carrots, pickles, crackers, fancy cheeses and meats, olives, chips, licorice, bananas, cereals, beer, wine, cake, brownies, juice, nutella, toaster pastries, ranch dip, Hawaiian buns, cold cuts, butter, nuts, yogurt,

I bake on holiday too. Dd has a peanut allergy. So cake mix, eggs, oil, chocolate chips, muffin mixes (Betty Crocker) are good.

I am assuming you will have a full kitchen. When we have stayed in a unit with a kitchen, I have ordered lunch meat/cheese for sandwiches, frozen pizza, eggs, pre cooked bacon, yogurts, fruit, cereal, hummus, carrots, chips and bottled water/sodas. Basically, quick easy stuff you can just throw together.

These are all helpful ideas! Hummus is a great idea! I do not plan to cook, but I want to have plenty of quick fix items for the kids (my adult kids and their sig others) so they can make sandwiches or snacks. I am curious about the cost of basics like milk and bread at the resort shop vs ordering from Garden Grocer...GG seems high compared to our local store but still a savings compared to WDW I am sure!

Bread and milk at the resorts are pretty reasonable. If I recall correctly a half gallon of milk was $3 and bread was from $2.50-$4 a loaf. It was everything else that was crazy at the resorts. Garden Grocer has a better selection and you know you will have the items reserved before leaving as opposed to banking on what the resort will carry in the way of certain items/brands. It is pricey but in this case, you time is more valuable. It saves a lot of headache plus you will have less waste because you will be not be tempted to impulse buy as you would in the brick and mortar store.

I found GG to be a little pricey and their selection a lot more limited than a real grocery store like Publix. For 6 of us for the week we got cereal, bread, eggs, bacon, fruit, granola bars, coffee, milk, OJ, cold cuts, mustard, mayo, pepper, sugar, pistachios, and some ingredients for dinner.

I prefer not to cook, but will make eggs in the morning a couple of times. They're quick and filling!

I always get the precooked frozen sausage patties, plus frozen hash browns (the kind you heat in the oven) or tater tots. Plus biscuit dough. Nice to sleep in a couple of times and have a big breakfast!

Cheese and crackers, for afternoons or night time snacks. I've ordered chicken strips and frozen pizzas as well.

I often bring some small versions of condiments, like barbecue sauce, mayo, seasonings, peanut butter and jelly, etc... I can't stomach spending an extra $20 or so just on that stuff, when I find it on sale at home.

We stayed at AoA, so didn't have access to a full kitchen. We did have a microwave and fridge.

For breakfast, we ordered yogurt, fruit, cereal, bagels, peanut butter, juice, milk, and pop tarts.

For snacks, we ordered some tortilla chips and salsa, some microwave popcorn, and some cookies. I also brought from home some homemade trail mix (peanuts, pretzels, raisins, and M&Ms) plus some of those little "Jif to Go" peanut butter tubs. I paired the peanut butter with apple slices and celery sticks that I bought at the resort food court; makes a nice, healthy snack.

We also ordered a case of bottled water, some Fresca, and some wine!
