O.K. here goes...We book our trip at BC in February 2005 for our trip coming up this week. We change to CTR Sept 4th. We learn of "free dining" and call Disney Reservations and are told that the free dining will be added to our package.

I just called Disney Reservations to confirm because we had not received anything from Disney. We were told that the free dining, which we qualified for, was no longer available to us, despite having been previously reassured it was. I was on the phone for 1:20, told the same thing by two different Reps. The explanation given was that if the free dining was part of our package, then our confirmation letter would note the free dining. Obviously ours does not or I would have not called in the first place.

I was shocked at the response fromDisney Reservations. While not rude, the Supervisor was condensending.

I have never experienced a situation in which a mistake was made and Disney refused to correct it. Disney is calling tomorrow.

Has anyone ever had a situation like this happen to them?

Does anyone have any suggestions?

We leave this Thursday, September 29.

Thanks!

It sounds like when you changed your reservation on September 4th, the Disney rep may have thought you already had booked the free dining on the original reservation, which is why he/she may have said you qualified in the switch.

I think it sounds more like a miscommunication than an error on Disney's part.

Did you qualify for free dining? Yes, because your trip fell within the time constraints BUT you failed to make the change yourself within the offer period. Disney doesn't have the obligation to (a) notify everyone eligible for the promotion that it exists, or (b) change everyone's reservation without their requesting it.

I clearly don't see any mistake on Disney's part. The offer was there for the taking, but unfortunately you didn't seize the opportunity during the offer period.
