OK, we are not savvy on this airfare thing. We are booked for WDW for 3/6-13/04. However, the cheapest round trip flights we can find are $325 per person. Does that sound right? We do not want any stop overs, I hate to fly to begin with. Our trip this past March we drove, so we don't know the ins and outs of airfare.

Any advice?

Not all that savvy myself, but we have round-trip, non-stops from Logan in Jan. for 205 (tax included). Others may have more info, but I think you are travelling during Spring Break - which is why your fares are high. We are flying on Song. Which airlines do you have?

I don't know where in MA you live, but have you considered flying in & out of Manchester (NH) Airport? I have flown in & out of Manchester a few times to visit friends near Cambridge, MA. The airport is smaller than Logan & much easier to get around in than Logan.

We fly out of boston a few times a year and I like orbitz for the matirx it provides. (www.orbitz.com) Do a couple of searches, one with flexible dates and then another with flexible airports. Depending on where in MA you are you could also fly out of manchester, nh, portsmouth, nh or rhode island, you can also fly into mco or sanford.

Then I always go to the cheapest airlines web site just in case they can meet or beat the price I find on Orbitz. For the past several years we have been loyal to AA but they have cut the flights and raised the prices to MCO. For 04 I have found the best deals on song and now jet blue. Hopefully with jet blue competing out of boston we will find some lower prices.

We're on the cape and we fly out of Providence alot - we use Southwest. I would also go to Jetblue's website and check their fares.

We flew out of Manchester in October and I would highly recommend it. The airport is small, the parking easy, and the traffic nonexistent! We flew Southwest for $175 roundtrip on a Thursday to Thursday trip. I can't say enough good things about Southwest!! Plus the flights were non-stop. If you live in Southern Mass you may want to try Providence as Southwest flies out of there as well.
Good luck!

We always fly SW out of Manchester, it's great and the most I've ever paid for a flight is $198.00.

Good Luck,
Lisa

Well, we booked through JetBlue out of Boston. We looked into SW from Providence and they were a lot more, maybe because it is March and spring break week? Anyway, we searched all the regular airlines, all the "cheap tickets" sites and Jet Blue was the cheapeast we could get non-stop, for $268 per person. I know, it is alot, but all of these $79 one way fares you have to travel by February, guess they don't want to offer them for peak time. Anyway, my brother and his wife are going a few days after us and they are flying AA for $200 per person but they used a travel agent and they are flying mid-week to mid-week, we are travelling Saturday to Saturday. Thoughts?

All depends on where you are in MA, but if you are near to Portsmouth or Manchester, NH then take a look at Pan Am (www.flypanam.com) they are advertising a $80 each way rate.

Service is great and they have removed enough seats so everyone has plenty of legroom. They also fly out of Hyannis I think.

They have a limited schedule and don't fly everywhere, but if you can connect I'd really recommend it.

for us, we look at Orbitz, yes, but would book either on the Delta, Song or JetBlue websites. Since you are flying at a peak period, $268 is a very fair price out of Logan; if you were flying in January you might have cause for complaint, but it seems you got the best deal for the time you're going; well done! True, your bro may have saved money by travelling mid-week, but you are travelling when you want to go, not when someone else's fare structure wants you to, and there is a cost/value to that (apprently $69 each;)).

In our case, since we can just take the T to Logan, catch a cheap cab or have someone drop off/ pick up, we cannot be bothered to drive an hour plus to save a little on airfare out of Manchester or Providence; that hour can be spent better sleeping before the trip or lounging around Luna Park at BW after getting there. If you are within 128, you have done well to simply bite the bullet and fly out of Logan and save the time for your vacation.

I am confused. Are you paying $325 or $268? Also, if you're booked, then likely your tickets are non-refundable so I am sorry to say that the point may be moot. If you're not booked, then the price can go up at any second. There are no guarantees that the fare you found will still be there. Finally, if your brother's TA got them a good deal, why not give her (or him) a call? You're under no obligation, just be up front about your situation.

Finally, djkeenan, you could not pay me to fly PanAm. I have heard horror stories about flt. cancellations, delays, etc... and since they only have a few planes, this can spell disaster. They cannot write their tickets to another airline and they can't put you on another flt. (Not to mention, you're out at Pease with no other commercial carrier in sight.)

When I originally posted this a few days ago, the cheapest fares I could find were $325, but I hadn't heard of JetBlue. I looked up JetBlue and we booked with them for $268 per person.

Anyone flown Jet Blue have any comments?

Hi ALL! 10:14pm est 12/02
SWA just saw an Ad for $49 one way! "FUN FARE!
No info about restrictions.
Also I talk to the SWA agent last night and said to buy one way from one airport and depart from a second airport on a one way fare.
We usually use one or more airports if the MCO fare round trip is full or too rich.
EX> MHT to Sarasota then MCO to MHT or MHT to fort Myers and depart MCO to MHT.
PLus the middle week is the only lowest fare both Delta and Jet Blue.
ENJOY!

"THE MAGIC HAPPENS!!!" AARRR!!!

JetBlue is supposed to be fantastic. I can't wait to try them this winter from Logan. I am a pretty devoted US Airways frequent flier, but I am sick to death of having to change planes to get to FL. Now with SW at MHT and JB at BOS (I do not fly Delta/Song on principle, a very long story...), I have options for non-stop again! Yeah!
