Just got a Firewall Security Alert and it said:

Date: 3/8/2002 Time: 11:33:11
Security alert displayed for rule Default Block NetBus Trojan horse.
Remote computer (67.25.13.148, 2995)

What exactly does this mean?

That someone is trying to hack their way into my computer? Is someone trying to send me a virus?

What?????????????

Looks like your firewall did its job and blocked an attempt to spread a Trojan Horse Virus to your system. The computer trying to spread the virus looks like it is on a dialup connection in Philly. The person on the computer trying to send this to you may be totally unaware that they are infected, much less that their computer is trying to spread the virus.

Keep that firewall running and make sure that you have virus scanning software and that it is up to date!

Thanks Bob! I knew I could count on someone here for an explanation!

We just installed that firewall a few weeks ago, after weird things kept happening to our computer! Looks like it was a wise investment! And we haven't been having anymore problems (knock on wood) with our computer either!

By the way, how did you figure out it was from Philly? (I have relatives there! )
