Haven't been on the Disboards in so long! Time to get back at it!

My family of four and my sister's family of four are staying in a GV over Spring Break. The GV is under my name using our DVC points. We have been to WDW with them in the past with this same scenario. At that time I purchased everyone's park tickets and did everyone's FPs. It just seemed easier at the time.

This time we're not so sure that is the best option? We will likely be splitting up a bit more and my sister will need to be able to control her family's FP options during the day. Can anyone suggest the best way to go about doing this?

If she makes her own MDE account, will I need to "remove" them from my MDE account? If we link our accounts will that be easier to make SOME FPs together?

At the risk of sound like an old bitty, I DO SO MISS THE GOOD OLD DAYS OF PAPER FP!!! The coordination required now when you are traveling with extended family is a royal pain. We'd like to ride some rides together, but not all. Some park days together, but not all. I have a headache from trying to figure it all out - and until now I had a pretty good handle on things.

Any advice out there? Walk me through this! Thanks!

If your sister was to create her own MDE account, you would need to get Disney Tech Support involved to move the profiles for her family (spouse & kids) from your MDE account to her MDE account. Honestly, this might be the easiest option as Disney Tech Support deals with this often.

There is a way to get it to work if you don't want to get Tech Support involved.
First, your sister could create her own MDE account. She should not add profiles for her family (spouse/kids).
From your MDE account, select 'Update' for your sister's profile. Select 'Invite to Connect' in the Update Information window that appears. Enter the address your sister used to create her account and click 'Yes'.
Your sister will need to sign on to her MDE account to approve the friend request.
Once she does, she should go to her Family & Friends list and select 'Add a Guest' towards the bottom of the page.
At a minimum, she should select her immediate family (spouse & kids) and then click 'Done'. She could also select any of your immediate family.
You will need to approve the friend request since under this scenario you still manage the profiles for her family.

This would allow you to still make plans for everyone, but it would also allow your sister to make plans for her family using her log on.
If your sister selected any of your immediate family after she clicked on 'Add a Guest', she would be able to make plans for them as well.

This will be the most effective. We had to do it recently....I had my BIL, my Father in law had my BIL and my BIL had his own....They fixed it quite easily so we all had the "same" person on our MDE's

Thanks! I will make sure to get that square before our FP date opens up.

Quick question, though: How does one contact Disney Tech Support? Are they easy to find?

Not sure if you called yet, but I definitely recommend calling. When I was trying to do this a while back I was coordinating with four households and it was a mess of emails not seen by parents and spam and things just not working. I called in and a very nice CM had me all fixed up in about 15 minutes.

Thanks again, everyone. I will give the techies a call and at the very least ask a bunch of questions. Lol. I'm considering just leaving my sister's family on my account and giving her access to it. As long as that is doable and not "against the rules." They're already on my reservation. As long as she can sign into the app (using my account) on her own if she wants to change things on the fly then I trust her not to mess up mine. Will have to make that decision asap. Tickets have been purchased and are waiting to be added to everyone's names so we can be ready for FPs.

Did I mention that I miss the old days of the paper FP tickets?
